Yggdrasil 2: Awakening, the newest Idle RPG by Noctua Games International PTE LTD has just launched globally. A mix of Idle RPGs and Roguelike RPGs, the game has seen positive reviews coming from various sources. Idle RPGs are often touted to be the best replacement for casual gamers who do not have time to spare for grinding in hardcore games. Yggdrasil 2: Awakening is currently available as a free-to-play game on both the Google Play Store and iOS App Store.

Yggdrasil 2: Awakening is a gacha game that offers players different rarities of characters at different probabilities through various summoning banners. The characters are all diverse and offer unique skill sets. The higher the rarity, the stronger the character is generally considered to be with some exceptions for certain types of content. The rate of summoning the highest rarity of characters in the game are quite generous at 13% for an SSR character. The general rule of gacha games is also relevant in Yggdrasil 2: Awakening as well. The highest rarity of characters are having the lowest probability to be summoned. Vice versa, the lowest rarity of characters are having the highest probability of being summoned. Sadly, there exist no pity in regular banners. Here are the different rarities of characters along with their probability of being summoned:

• SSR Characters – 13% Probability of being summoned
• SR Characters – 41% Probability of being summoned
• R Characters – 46% Probability of being summoned

In this tier list for Yggdrasil 2: Awakening, we will be ranking the best characters to use and add to your formation. We have taken into account different factors such as the base rarity of the character, the skills of the characters, and their usability in different content. Keep in mind that the game is still very new and fresh, being released just 4 days ago. Hence, the information surrounding the game is quite limited to form a definitive tier list. Players are encouraged to try out different team compositions to see what works best for your account.

This tier list is just to be used as a reference point of view for new players as not all players have access to the same characters. All players are going to have access to different types of characters at different stages of the game. That’s the beauty of gacha games like Yggdrasil 2: Awakening. Players can take inspiration from this tier list while building their teams but this is in no way shape or form, a definitive tier list that everyone has to follow through.

S Tier Characters

Let’s take a look at some of the characters in this tier:

SIA

Sia is a Fire elemental UR character that is classified as a Pioneer DPS in-game. Sia’s in-game description reads as follows – “Sia’s city-state was behind the times, meaning it was technologically unadvanced and economically underdeveloped, so she had to rely on the goodwill of other city-states to survive. This often led to intense bullying. At the age of 15, however, the bullied became the bully once she saw some of her own people being tormented by the gentiles, one of the gentiles in particular being a plutocrat of the Freya Trade Guild.”

Sia’s 1st active ability Laser Impulse is a single targeted damaging skill that can inflict the target with a Burn debuff for 6 seconds. The Burn debuff deals continuous damage equal to 65% of her Attack as damage per second. Her 2nd active ability Laser Scatter is another single targeted damaging skill that deals 240% of her Attack as damage to 1 random enemy. Sia’s ultimate ability Death Star is an AOE-targeted damaging skill that deals 540% of her Attack as damage to all enemies in sight. Additionally, 25% of her Attack as damage will also be inflicted to all enemies as Splash damage. Her passive ability Infrared Focus states that her basic attacks and abilities will deal 40% more damage to enemies that are affected by Burn debuff.

TSUKUMO

Tsukumo is a Stab elemental UR character that is classified as a Pioneer DPS in-game. Tsukumo’s in-game description reads as follows – “As a child, Saeko experienced the great battle between the Crusaders and the survivors and nearly died because of how weak she was. She was rescued and sent to the current city-state to complete the fusion test to become a wolf-girl with high combat capabilities and decided to find the person who saved her when things started. She never made any progress until an unexpected encounter transpired, and she finally found her benefactor.”

Tsukumo’s 1st active ability Wolf Spear Triple Strike is a single targeted damaging skill that hits the enemy 3 times with different skillshots. Each hit deals 100%, 130%, and 180% of her Attack as damage for each strike respectively. The 3rd and the final strike also repel the enemy. Her 2nd active ability Hard Sweep is another single targeted damaging skill that deals 240% of her Attack as damage to 1 random enemy. Tsukumo’s ultimate ability Skywolf Destroyer is a multi-targeted damaging skill that deals 400% of her Attack as damage to 5 random enemies on the ground. Her passive ability Penetrate states that all of her attacks have a chance to inflict enemies with a Bleed debuff for 5 seconds, dealing 70% of her Attack as damage per second.

CATHERINE

Catherine is a Dark elemental UR character that is classified as a Psychic DPS in-game. Catherine’s in-game description reads as follows – “Her twin sister, Liana, was sacrificed to a demon a hundred years ago, but she offered up herself instead. The extreme pain forced her to awaken into a dark witch, who now serves as a demon. For a hundred years, she has been searching for the whereabouts of her sister Liana (whom she never saw again). The demon told her that Liana had been executed by the Devil for not completing the sacrifice, but Catherine was convinced that her sister was still alive (due to her telepathic connection) and never stopped searching. ” y

Catherine’s 1st active ability Soul Drain is a single targeted damaging skill that drains the target’s HP for 3 seconds while dealing 70% of her Attack as damage per 0.5 seconds. 50% of the damage dealt during this skill is converted as HP recovered for Catherine. Her 2nd active ability Hand of Hell is a multi-targeted damaging skill that 50% of her Attack as damage to 2 enemies in front while also slowing down their movement speed by 40%. Catherine’s ultimate ability Demon Descent states that she summons a Demon Servant and Demon Vanguard. Demon Servant gains 65% of her attributes while Demon Vanguard takes 75% of her attributes. The Demon Servant is long-ranged while the Demon Vanguard is melee-ranged. Both the summoned monsters last for a duration of 6 seconds on the battlefield. Her passive ability Witch Pact states that Catherine gains an Invulnerability buff when on the brink of death. Further, she recovers 6% of her MAX HP for 3 seconds. This effect activates once every 16 seconds.

CALICE

Calice is an Ice elemental UR character that is classified as a Demi-Huma DPS in-game. Melissa’s in-game description reads as follows – “Calice originally comes from a harmonious, happy, and devout family. At the age of 8, Calice was selected by the Crusaders as a subject for a mutation experiment and suffered a terrible ordeal. With a superhuman will to survive, she became one of the few successful subjects, and after learning the truth about the Crusaders, she chose to follow the survivors’ leader and leave. In retaliation for her departure, her family was slaughtered by the Crusaders, and she has hated the Crusaders to the bone ever since. Setting sight on a single Crusaders loyalist sends her into a frenzy until said loyalist is no more.”

Calice’s 1st active ability Ice Shield is a single targeted buffing skill which states Calice gains a Shield that absorbs physical damage equal to 240% of her Attack. She also gains 25% Attack buff for 5 seconds. Her 2nd active ability Ice Crust is a multi-targeted damaging skill that deals 160% of her Attack as damage to 5 mid-range enemies in front that get caught by the projectile. Calice’s ultimate ability Ice Crystal Rebirth is a multi-targeted damaging skill that deals 420% of her Attack as damage to 5 mid-range enemies on the ground. Her passive ability Frozen Hell states that all of her normal attacks have a chance to inflict targets with a Frozen Mark debuff. When this debuff is stacked 3 times on any target, it forms a frigid hell, decreasing Attack speed of allies within it by 15% and increasing damage they take by 40% for 5 seconds each.

KYLE

Kyle is a Slash elemental UR character that is classified as an Augmenter Tank in-game. Kyle’s in-game description reads as follows – “Kyle was once a mechanic who served in the Kalis military department, responsible for fighting against the fallen who attacked the empire and defending the Kalis’s safety. However, in a brutal attack, the Kalis empire was attacked by chaos, and Kyle’s wife disappeared. In order to find his wife’s whereabouts, Kyle quit his job as a mechanic and embarked on a perilous journey.”

Kyle’s 1st active ability Dragon Roar is an AOE-targeted debuffing skill where he Taunts all enemies in a trapezoidal area and deals damage equal to 230% of his own Attack. He also increases his own Defense by 70% for 6 seconds after using this ability. His 2nd active ability Dragon Breath is an AOE-targeted damaging skill that deals 240% of his Attack as damage to all enemies in front that get caught by the projectile. Kyle’s ultimate ability Dragon Descent provides him with the Dragon Descent buff. This effect lets him recover 15% of his MAX HP for 6 seconds while also providing 20% damage reduction for 6 seconds. His passive ability Dragon Scale Armor states that he provides all allies 14% Physical damage protection.

MELISSA

Melissa is a Light elemental UR character that is classified as a Augmenter Controller in-game. Melissa’s in-game description reads as follows – “There is an inexplicable bond with Liya, and when the two of them stay together, they will have a strong telepathic reaction. In terms of age, Liya should be older, so she is called Sister Liya. A long time ago, she lost control of her abilities, causing the passage between Hermes City and the outside world to be activated. The location of the city was exposed, and Liya’s body also returned to the way she was when she was a child, with no way to recover. Melissa was originally jealous of Liya. When she realized that her abilities were out of control, she deliberately kept Liya by her side so that she couldn’t grow up. However, she later discovered that when Liya’s body stopped growing, Life poured out.”

Melissa’s 1st active ability Space banishes the enemy with the highest BP for 3 seconds where they are unable to act and removed from the battlefield. Further, during this time, the banished enemy will take damage equal to 50% of her Attack per second. Her 2nd active ability Space 2 is a multi-targeted damaging skill that deals 140% of her Attack as damage to all enemies a front line. Melissa’s ultimate ability Time Freeze is an AOE-targeted damaging skill that deals 100% of her attack as damage to all enemies. Enemies caught also get 25% reduced Haste and take 20% of Melissa’s Attack as damage per second for 5 seconds. Her passive ability Time Law states that she gets increased BP over time. Increases her own Attack by 4%, up to a maximum of 36% every 10 seconds.

LIYA

Liya is a Wind elemental UR character that is classified as a Psychic DPS in-game. Liya’s in-game description reads as follows – “Liya was born too long ago to remember the years individually. The only thing she recalls is her name. Her long life has brought many a turmoil as she watched all her loved ones pass away, with nothing she could do to stop it. This led to a strong sense of possessiveness every time she formed a bond. Her fear of loneliness causes her to fall in love at the drop of a hat and fall so deeply that there soon becomes no way out. Should the other party ever express the desire to do something else in life or should she see other people living out their days in bliss, her emotions blind her reason.”

Liya’s 1st active ability Haze Assault is a multi-targeted damaging skill that deals 180% of her Attack as damage to 5 random enemies in a trapezoidal area. Enemies caught also get Feared for 4 seconds. Her 2nd active ability Dark Tornado is another multi-targeted damaging skill that deals 220% of her Attack as damage to 5 random enemies in a trapezoidal area. Liya’s ultimate ability Darkstorm is an AOE-targeted damaging skill that deals 240% of her attack as damage to all enemies. Enemies caught also get 30% reduced movement speed and 15% reduced Attack Speed for 6 seconds each. 

NATASHA

Natasha is an Ice elemental SSR character that is classified as a Pioneer DPS in-game. Natasha’s in-game description reads as follows – “Natasha has always had stored memories of you, and you and she have the same “birthday.” Her sole purpose: to unconditionally protect you. She started off belonging to the DAWN organization, taking on commissioned missions to earn the resources needed for them to survive. She was just like any regular bot carrying out tasks, but she became self-aware after meeting you in person. Her “brain” is cram packed with research data and information about the protagonist from the creation of the embryo to post-embryo development, which was recorded by an old researcher in the former Crusaders. In the old researcher’s opinion, everything the Crusaders did was against the laws of nature, a diabolical mutilation of life that had to be stopped.”

Natasha’s 1st active ability Ice Rain is a multi-targeted damaging skill that deals 230% of her Attack as damage to random enemies in a circular area. Her 2nd active ability Cryobeam is a single-targeted damaging skill that deals 70% of her Attack as damage to the enemy with the highest BP. This skill hits 3 times. Natasha’s ultimate ability Ice Age is a single-targeted damaging skill that deals 460% of her attack as damage to the targeted enemy. Enemies around the target also take Splash damage equal to 40% of her Attack.

HAYLEY

Hayley is a Light elemental SSR character that is classified as a Mutant Buffer in-game. Hayley’s in-game description reads as follows – “Hayley is a child who simply wants peace and swallows everything the Crusaders teaches, believing from the bottom of her heart that the Crusaders is following God’s direction. Because many people in the Crusaders have a tragic past, such as Cliff, Klein, and Selena, the Crusaders has had no problem accepting these rejects of the world. This has given the Crusaders a most graceful view in Hayley’s sight. She feels the Crusaders is a sacred place where hope finds its home and can bring about a bright future for a new world.”

Hayley’s 1st active ability Divine Key’s Light is an AOE-targeted buffing skill that provides all allies with 20% damage amplification for 6 seconds. Her 2nd active ability Light Energy Conversion is a multi-targeted damaging skill that deals 115% of her Attack as damage to 4 random enemies in a circular area. Further, this skill also recovers the HP of the lowest ally by 30% of their MAX HP. Hayley’s ultimate ability God Key is an AOE-targeted healing skill that heals all allies equal to 320% of her own Attack. Further, she provides the ally with the lowest HP with an Invulnerable shield for 4 seconds. 

B Tier Characters

MOCHIZUKI

Mochizuki is a Poison elemental SR character that is classified as a Demi-Human Debuffer in-game. Mochizuki’s in-game description reads as follows – “Growing up in the Geisha Hall, Fifteen Night met all kinds of people there and was the most popular geisha in the hall because of her transparent and gentle personality. When she was seven years old, she wanted to read and write, so she hired a teacher. However, the teacher’s wife, a jealous woman, learned of her feelings for her husband and deliberately found someone to make things difficult for her during one of her performances and buried her alive in a field of aster flowers.” 

Mochizuki’s 1st active ability Dispersion is an single-targeted damaging skill that deals 330% of her Attack to an enemy. Further, she gains 25% increased magic damage for 6 seconds. Her 2nd active ability Umbrella Dance is a single-targeted damaging skill that deals 70% of her Attack as damage to the targeted enemy 3 times. Mochizuki’s ultimate ability Growth is a multi-targeted damaging skill that deals 370% of her Attack as damage to 2 enemies. She also makes them vulnerable to taking 25% increased damage for 6 seconds.

CASPIAN

Caspian is an Ice elemental SR character that is classified as a Augmenter Healer in-game. Caspian’s in-game description reads as follows – “The doctor was a wanderer originally had his own small clinic in a medium-sized city-state, using his awakened power to treat diseases and save lives. Because of his superb medical Skills, he often receives requests from patients from various city-states, so he often goes to various city-states to treat different patients. He later became favored by the Hrvatska and stayed in the Hrvatska family as a family doctor.”

Caspian’s 1st active ability Frost Attack is a multi-targeted damaging skill that deals 330% of his Attack as damage to 2 enemies. He also makes them vulnerable to taking 25% increased damage for 6 seconds. His 2nd active ability Freeze Heal is a single-targeted healing skill that heals the selected ally equal to 220% of his Attack.

TANGERINE

Tangerine is a Slash elemental SR character that is classified as a Psychic Buffer in-game. Tangerine’s in-game description reads as follows – “This server (and Melissa’s personal assistant) of the Hermes Maid Café in Aschheimer City stayed as a general attendant because the café provided free food and lodging. Although reckless, her customer satisfaction guarantee has never gone wrong. The number of broken plates has left the café owner speechless, and most of her monthly salary is spent on compensation for the broken tableware.”

Tangerine’s 1st active ability Lunch provides the lunch buff to 2 allies. Allies with this buff take 25% reduced magical damage for 6 seconds. Her 2nd active ability Breakfast is a single-targeted damaging skill that deals damage equal to 240% of her Attack.
