Bloodline: Heroes of Lithas was born a few months ago as a gacha RPG with a twist: Instead of players having to recruit the best characters for their individual skills and traits, they would have to recruit them for the strengths of their bloodline. In other words, the power of a hero comes, in part, from the blood running in their veins, which empowers them in specific ways depending on their clan. These traits, in turn, can be passed down to their children when espoused with another character. In this sense, while individual characters can be quite powerful on their own, their offspring are actually the top tier characters in this game, since they can have the strengths of their parents, without the weaknesses and shortcomings.

‘True’ Hybrid Champions Coming to Bloodline: Heroes of Lithas

We’ve covered this marriage and offspring system in the past, specifically in our Bloodline: Heroes of Lithas marriage system explanation guide. Moreover, we’ve also touched upon the best Bloodline: Heroes of Lithas clans where we went over the strongest bloodlines in the game, for those looking to optimize their offspring through the marriage system.

However, this marriage mechanic, despite being quite innovative in practice, had one big limitation, specifically regarding the visual aspect. In other words, while offspring really did inherit the combat traits of their parents, and could also be manipulated to remove the shortcomings of their progenitors, they would always end up looking identical to one of their parents. This is a bit of a bummer and a missed opportunity during the game’s release, as the possible physical appearances of all the champions in the game was limited to just two per bloodline—one for each gender in the game.

With the new Hybrid system coming to Bloodline: Heroes of Lithas, however, this limitation is a thing of the past, as the new offspring heroes will not only be able to take the strengths (and weaknesses) of their parents, but will also take many of their physical traits, becoming a “true hybrid” of both of them. This will help to boost the immersion in the game, as offspring will now actually look more like a mix between their parents, instead of only taking their combat traits but looking exactly identical to only one of them.

This announcement was first teased by the game’s Lead Narrative Designer a in clip they posted on its Youtube channel, which we’ve linked below:

Though they announced this upcoming update in their video, the team, as of yet, has not revealed a release date for this new system, though it shouldn’t be too far off. What do you think of the new hybrid system coming to Bloodline: Heroes of Lithas? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below!
