India-Korea Invitationals Hosted by Krafton Ended with a Bang
In an evergreen set of events, the 3rd and final day of the Krafton India-Korea invitationals paved the way for the onset of future Esports events. Although the event has ended, the memories still continue for long as players from different parts of the world come to support their favorite players and teams. The games that were included in the invitational event were – Battlegrounds Mobile India, Real Cricket, and Road to Valor: Empires.
The 3-day event was held at the auspicious location of Pragati Maidan, New Delhi. Fans around the different parts of India, as well as the globe, flocked over to the location, with a reported headcount reaching 12000! This is a huge testament to the credibility and capability of the Indian esports scene, and some experts say the phenomenon is still on the grassroots level. Krafton has proved that a beautifully organized event can draw in players to get entertained via information and games, despite cultural barriers.
Throughout the three days of the celebration, honorable members of the parliament, representatives from the Sports Authority of India, Chang Jae-bok, the Korean ambassador to India, Nivruti Rai, MD and CEO of Invest India, Gurpreet Singh Sandhu, the team manager for the Indian national football team, and Yuzvendra Chahal, the Indian cricket player, were among the dignitaries and high-ranking government officials in attendance.
A Big Push to the Indian Esports Scene
The entire event was a huge success and it shows the lengths that Krafton is ready to go in order to boost India’s esports scene. Often commended by players as one of the founding fathers of Indian esports, BGMI (earlier PUBG), was always at the forefront when it came to attracting audiences en masse. But now, newer esports titles are also emerging and making a mark on the Indian esports spectrum, adding on to the credibility of Krafton.
