A new idle RPG has come to town and it is Tale of Sword – Idle RPG developed by Loongcheer Game who has worked on other games like Stickman Master: Archer Legend, Idle Defense: Dark Forest, and Ollie’s Manor: Pet Farm Sim. Unlike many idle RPGs which typically use an anime artstyle, Tale of Sword uses a cartoon art style reminiscent to those seen in 80’s to 90’s era of Japan. The game has launched its open beta, and you can now install and play it on Android via the Google Play Store

Tale of Sword – Idle RPG advertises itself as a “super time-killing AFK indie game”. If you are unfamiliar with idle RPGs, the gameplay involves deploying a team of heroes who will fight for you to eliminate enemies and loot resources from them. Your heroes keep doing this regardless of if you are online or offline so the grind is endless. Tale of Sword – Idle RPG takes this formula and modifies it to make the gameplay more convenient and interesting while also introducing a unique cartoon artstyle to the genre.

Tale of Sword – Idle RPG Open Beta Launches on Android

This retro-themed idle RPG features over 50 charming heroes that you can recruit. Each hero has their own background, skills and abilities, and other characteristics that you can consider when forming the perfect hero team. One of the heroes revealed by the developers through the game’s Facebook page is Devra, an assassin class and fire-ranged dealer hero who can take out enemies with her menacing bow and arrow. You can build the ultimate lineup of heroes by training your heroes and maximizing team cultivation by using buffs and equipping special items like relics to make heroes stronger and collect more resources.

Idle gameplay is as simple as deploying up to four heroes and letting them do auto-battle. However, aside from auto-battle you, you can also tap the screen to deal massive damage to enemies. The faster you click, the more damage you deal. Help your heroes fight from time to time to maximize your gains. Aside from that, you can also unlock a supporter role in the game which allows you to technically have more than four heroes, but the extra heroes will just act as support for the main lineup.
