The latest update to CookieRun: Kingdom has landed, and it’s one of the biggest of the year for this gacha RPG. Version 6.4, titled “Paradise of Passion and Sloth”, introduces brand-new Cookies, a major story expansion, permanent gameplay features, and the long-awaited return of the Boss Rush event. Whether you’re here for the lore or the leaderboard grind, there’s plenty to get into.

The update became available on May 7, 2025, following scheduled maintenance. Among the key highlights are Eternal Sugar Cookie, a powerful Beast-type Bomber, and Pavlova Cookie, a Ranged Epic. Combined with gameplay updates and new team-building tools, this patch adds depth for both casual players and competitive fans.

New Cookies Join the Fray

The latest update presents Eternal Sugar Cookie, a control specialist with elegant skills and stacking debuffs, and Pavlova Cookie, a support unit enhancing damage with accurate arrow attacks. These distinct Cookies offer new strategic options for both PvE challenges and competitive Arena play, adding significant depth to team compositions. Here’s a breakdown of both of these new cookies:

  • Eternal Sugar Cookie: A mythic Bomber who specializes in charm, healing, and scaling damage through debuffs like “Guilt” and “Laxness.”
  • Pavlova Cookie: A precision-based Ranged unit that rains arrows, builds up “Red Thread” stacks, and boosts CRIT stats for the whole team.

Eternal Sugar Cookie takes center stage in this patch as the fourth Beast Cookie to be released. Her floating cotton candy cloud isn’t just for show—she restores health, summons helpers, and punishes enemies over time. The more stacks of her unique effects you build, the more dangerous she becomes. On the other side, Pavlova Cookie helps set up enemies with a debuff combo that ultimately leads to Charm status, while boosting team-wide critical damage.

New Story Chapter and Systems

Version 6.4 adds Episode 9: Garden of Sweet Delights, continuing the Beast-Yeast storyline and focusing on Hollyberry’s arc. This new chapter introduces Blast Mode and Rationalization mechanics, adding layers of strategy. Eternal Sugar Cookie plays a special role here, extending Blast Mode when on your team and countering debuffs caused by Rationalization.

The update also introduces Resonant Toppings that work only with specific Cookies like Sugar and Pavlova, bringing higher minimum stat rolls. There’s a new Expedition Area for resource farming, as well as two powerful Beascuits—Frozen and Steelen—that enhance Ice and Steel damage.

Boss Rush Returns

Boss Rush is back and better than ever with tougher enemies, unique mechanics, and updated scoring. Spread across two halves, the event runs from May 7 to June 3, with a soft reset mid-season. Players build strategic teams to defeat increasingly powerful bosses, many of whom now gain “Rage Effects” when their HP dips low.

To succeed, you’ll need to unlock and manage Synergy Effects, optimize Suppression Levels using Battle Supply Chests, and balance team fatigue to score high across all stages. Retry Mode lets you improve stage scores, while Practice Mode offers a risk-free way to test team ideas. The Boss Rush Shop has also been refreshed, with new Challenge Coin rewards available for a limited time.

New Features and Gameplay Upgrades

Beyond story and event content, Version 6.4 also brings in fresh game mechanics and systems that enhance long-term team-building. From a brand-new skill element to updated artifacts and unique treasures, this patch deepens customization options and strengthens class-based strategies for both PvE and PvP players.

  • New Steel Skill Element: Applied to several Cookies including Tea Knight and Wildberry, with boosted rates in a new gacha banner.
  • New Solid Steel Artifact: Buffs Steel-type damage and resist stats, upgradeable through standard materials.
  • New Treasures: The Mysterious Jewelry Box and Mystical Silver Fork bring unique AoE damage and team-wide buffs based on triggered effects.

Standardized conditions keep Boss Rush fair; all Cookies are set to Level 90 with maxed skills, and effects like Treasures and Guild Buffs are disabled. Each Cookie’s star level contributes to a Star Bonus, with Beast Stars counting double.
