PUBG Mobile 4.4 Beta Update Greek Theme, Divine Trials, Weapon Re-balancing, and more

The PUBG Mobile 4.4 update marks one of the most ambitious thematic shifts in the history of Erangel. As we move away from the current version, the developers have introduced the Hero’s Crown theme, which merges the intensity of a battle royale with the epic scale of the Greek and Roman empires. This update is not just a simple visual overhaul. Players are introduced to a world filled with gladiator armies, ancient temples, and magical abilities that redefine the pace of combat. Check out everything new coming with PUBG 4.4 update below!
Greek Mythology Comes to Life in Erangel
The 4.4 update brings a unique time travel experience to Erangel, where the landscape is now dotted with Greek architecture and Roman influence. You will find yourself fighting through town halls and barracks that look like they were pulled straight from the history books. Golden accents, marble pillars, and war flags now decorate the world, giving every encounter a legendary feel. This thematic shift influences rotations and looting patterns as players hunt for specific mythological items and gear.
Yasnaya Polyana and Ruins Become the Central Hot Drops in PUBG 4.4 Beta
In the Hero’s Crown mode, the action is concentrated around two major locations: Yasnaya Polyana and the Ruins. Both areas have been redesigned to feature massive palaces and town halls. At the center of these hot drops sits a grand palace filled with high tier loot. The design promotes tactical play, using large pillars and open stages as cover for intense squad fights.

Unlike previous underwater themes, this set of hot drops focuses on land based verticality and structure based positioning. Strategic squads will find that the new temples dedicated to Greek gods are essential for gathering resources before the final circles.
Divine Trials and Mythological Challenges
Players can now engage in a series of trials named after famous figures from Greek folklore. These include the Achilles Trail, Spartan’s Trial, Icarus’ Trial, and the Gryphon Trial. Each challenge requires you to complete specific in game objectives tied to the character’s legend. Successfully finishing these trials rewards players with exclusive titles and special items that provide a significant advantage. It adds a layer of objective based gameplay that encourages squads to move across the map and engage with the environment rather than just hiding in buildings.
The Rise of Glory Medals and Nimbus Island
A brand new ranking system has arrived in the form of Glory Medals. Players earn these medals by securing finishes, reviving their teammates, and completing trials. Once a squad gathers 100 points and ranks within the top four of the lobby, they unlock access to Nimbus Island. This is a floating island in the sky where players can find premium loot and an upgraded version of the themed vehicle. Traveling to the sky island provides a safe haven for rearming, but it also leads to the most dangerous encounter in the update.
The Centaur: New PvE Boss Comes to PUBG
PvE returns with a vengeance in the 4.4 beta through a dedicated boss fight. Once a team activates the vehicle on Nimbus Island, they are transported to a grand temple to face a powerful Centaur. This half human, half horse creature is incredibly dangerous and can deal massive damage to an unprepared squad. You have exactly three minutes to defeat the Centaur. Succeeding in this battle rewards your team with advanced supplies and magical powers that are not available anywhere else on the map. It is a high risk, high reward encounter that requires perfect coordination.

New Vehicle: Fire-Horse Chariot
The Scorpion and other past vehicles are replaced by the spectacular Horse Chariot in this update. This vehicle is powered by two magical fire horses and can be found at the main event locations. It reaches a top speed of 85 KM/H on the ground, making it a reliable choice for rotations. However, its most impressive feature is the ability to fly. When the chariot reaches its maximum power, it can take flight for a limited time, allowing squads to soar over obstacles and surprise enemies from the air.

PUBG Mobile 4.4 Weapon Balance Adjustments
In PUBG Mobile 4.4 update, it seems the developers are finally looking to balance out some of the more overused shotguns and assault rifles (ARs). Some of the core weapon balance changes in PUBG 4.4 are as follows:
- Sniper Rifles Enhanced: Both bolt action rifles and designated marksman rifles have received a massive buff. Shot damage no longer decreases over long distances, and every hit now causes significantly more wear and tear to enemy armor.
- Shotguns Weakened: To balance close quarters combat, shotguns now have increased damage drop off and a wider bullet spread. They also cause less damage to enemy armor than they did previously.
- Assault Rifles Adjusted: Most ARs now deal higher damage at close to medium ranges but have lower effectiveness at longer distances. Note that the M16A4 and Mk47 remain unaffected by these specific changes.
- New Weapon Availability: The JS 9 SMG is now a standard ground loot item on Erangel, and the Panzerfaust has been added to the loot pools of Erangel, Miramar, Rondo, and Vikendi.
Visual and Sound Optimizations
The 4.4 update enhances the overall atmosphere of Hethereau by adding layers of detail to the environments and character actions.
- Immersive Audio Landscapes: New sound effects have been added for moving buildings and structural shifts within the themed areas. You will also notice more distinct audio cues for melee combat and character transformations.
- Enhanced Visual Effects: The visual feedback for magical abilities and the fire effects on the new Horse Chariot have been polished to look more realistic. Character transformations now feature smoother animations and more vibrant lighting.
- UI Transparency: The user interface has been optimized to be less intrusive, especially in the World of Wonder mode, where visual programming elements can now be managed with a cleaner and more intuitive display.
Players can enjoy playing PUBG Mobile on a bigger screen of their PC or Laptop via BlueStacks along with your keyboard and mouse.
