Courtney already mastered the art of Tarot when she was young. She came back to her hometown to run a tarot divination business after graduating college. 

The business grew rapidly in popularity and some customers started to pay for not only divination but also for bounties. Her parents gave her a Maine coon cat named Diablo when she was still 15 years old and it became her closest companion ever since who also fought alongside her.

Her reason for opening a fortune-telling shop is not to be rich or famous but to gather information and find who murdered his father who once served in the U.S. military. He was killed by an unknown assailant after returning to Iowa from a tour. Courtney found a strange symbol at the scene of the crime, she has not stopped looking for clues about the symbol ever since. Unfortunately, Courtney still hasn’t found any clue regarding the strange symbols.

Everything changed when someone who was not a customer entered her fortune-telling shop. A tall man showed up in front of her and she immediately noticed the calluses on the man’s hands which reminded her late father who also had calluses on his hands the same way the mysterious tall man had. 

He walked up to Courtney and showed her a piece of paper that had imprints that looked like stone rubbing. Courtney was shocked after seeing the patterns on the paper which had similar symbols engraved on her mind as it was the symbol that was left on her father’s dead body, the symbol that she has been searching for all this time.

The tall man then asked Courtney if she could recognize the symbol but she did not reply. Even though she is silent, the man knows that she is looking for the symbol and that it means to solve the murder of his father. She then goes on a defensive mode as well as her companion Maine coon cat getting ready for a possible threat but the man assured her that he didn’t come to harm her but to offer her a business proposal. It turns out that he is part of a secretive mercenary group called Dark Wolf. He told her that her talent is useful for their organization and that her strong motivation aligns with theirs. He also assured that he and his organization will help her to know the meaning of the strange symbols that were found on his father’s body.
