RPG Onigo Hunter brings the Role Playing genre to life, and throws up exciting challenges for gamers. Developed by KEMCO, this Android game is best experienced on BlueStacks, the World’s #1 app player for PC and Mac users.
RPG Onigo Hunter feels like a throwback quest with a fun twist on monster hunting. The setup is classic fantasy: the King goes missing in ancient ruins, the Princess is stuck in a bad spot, and a rookie hunter takes the job to track him down. The hook is not just fighting monsters, but catching them. You set traps, lure creatures in, and then use what you catch to craft gear and items. New equipment actually changes the character’s look, which sounds small but gives a nice sense of progress. Battles lean old school and straightforward, and the loop is taking requests at the guild, building better gear from your catches, and filling out the Monster Catalog and skill list as you go. There are achievements to chase too, though the support for Google Play style achievements looks like it may be on the way out.
The base game is the full story without needing to buy stuff, which is rare and honestly the best way to try it. There is a premium edition with a points bonus, but the standard version holds up fine. On PC with BlueStacks, the game runs smooth, and mouse or keyboard makes menus and trap placement quicker than tapping around on a phone. One note for anyone swapping devices a lot, there was a period where some 64 bit phones were not supported, so playing on a computer kind of sidesteps that mess.
