Abyss: Chosen Heirs Beginner’s Guide to Master the Game Mechanics

Abyss: Chosen Heirs is a visually stunning dark fantasy MMORPG powered by Unreal Engine 5, offering an immersive experience set in a world plagued by chaos and demonic corruption. As one of the Chosen Heirs, players are entrusted with the power of the ancient Cube of Origins, a mystical relic capable of altering fate itself. While the game boasts many different PvE and PvP game modes, understanding the basics is more important, especially for a beginner. This article will guide you on how to progress faster in the game, along with explaining all the different game systems.
Classes
Before you even start the game, you are given a choice of choosing your own class among 5 choices:
- Snow Queen – Harness the power of nature, controlling sweeping power.
- Onmyouji – Instinct through yin and yang, perceive the balance of reincarnation.
- Monkey King – Monkey King of the eastern state, possessing incredible power.
- Dragon Maid – Descendants of the ancient dragon, guard of the world.
- Assassin – Move like the wind, and kill like a ghost.
Each class acts as a different character altogether, and have different playstyles. We would recommend checking out a class guide that explains all the pros/cons of each class in detail as this choice is irreversible. Once made, you cannot change your class. Each class has multiple active and passive abilities that players can gradually unlock and upgrade.
Learn the Core Combat Mechanics of Abyss: Chosen Heirs
Abyss: Chosen Heirs is a landscape-oriented MMORPG (Massively Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Game) that boasts Unreal engine 5 powered graphics and fluid skill animations. Players will be mesmerized with the vivid landscapes and graphics, but there is more to the game’s combat system than what meets the eye. It is a complete skill-oriented combat system wherein you need to position and target your abilities. To provide some basics, on the left-hand side, you have the virtual control wheel that can be used to control the movement of your character.
You can also change the direction of the camera by swiping left or right on the screen. This will help you provide direction to the character and aim your skills better. Coming to the skill alignment, you should see a crescent shaped circle on the right-hand side. In the middle of this circle is the auto-attack button that can be used to initiate basic attacks of the character class you have chosen. All of your active skills can be seen in a crescent-shaped semi-circle covering the auto-attack button. Each skill has a specific cooldown, and cannot be used until this timer is over.
You should also see a red-colored HP bar on the top left-hand side next to your account name. When this HP bar falls to 0, you will die and respawn at the last point. There is also a Dodge and Target button below the auto-attack button. Dodge helps you dash in a specific direction quite fast. This can be used to avoid taking damage from enemy abilities and projectiles. It’s always best to dodge attacks instead of blocking them to negate any damage. The target button can be used to change your attacking target priority.
Questing
Since Abyss: Chosen Heirs is an MMO, there are bound to be quests in the game. These quests are of 2 types – Main quests and Side quests. Players can embark on each type of quest when they feel like it. Main quests help you progress faster in terms of account level, and also shower you with generous rewards. As a beginner, your priority should be focusing on completing the main quests as they also help you unlock more game modes and game systems such as Forging, pets, and more. Side quests, on the other hand, are simply additional quests that can reward you for empowering and strengthening your character.
The game features many quality-of-life (QOL) features that can help players complete these quests easily. For example, you can simply click on any quest, and the game directly auto-paths you towards the quest location. This can save a lot of time, especially when the questing area is far away from your current location. Next, you can also enable auto-combat to clear out enemies in combat-related quests.
Pets
Pets are your trusty and reliable partners in crime. They are used in combat scenarios, and come in different rarities. Each pet has a CP (Combat Power) assigned to it. The higher the rarity, the better the base stats, which means a higher CP. Players can get more Pets through summoning, events, and pack purchases.
Pets have access to unique active and passive abilities through which they can help their master in combat. Much like your abilities, the pet’s abilities also have a cooldown attached to them. Use them carefully in battles. Each pet’s abilities are unique as some can heal, while others can deal damage.
Mounts
Mounts are amazing travelling companions in Abyss: Chosen Heirs that unlock quite early on. As you complete more main quests, you will gradually unlock the ability to unlock mounts. Much like pets, mounts also come in different tiers. The higher the tier of the mount, the more CP it will impart for your account. Mounts also have access to several abilities on top of being amazing travelling partners.
Travelling with a mount on greatly increases your movement speed but they cannot be used in combat. They have passive abilities that impart several effects to the user.
Players can enjoy playing Abyss: Chosen Heirs on a bigger screen of their PC or Laptop via BlueStacks along with your keyboard and mouse.
