AFK Journey is an exceptionally well-made AFK title that boasts an interactive open-world to all players. Start your very own adventure in the magical world of Esperia where delightful companions await you! AFK Journey is available as a free-to-play game on both Google Play Store and iOS App Store.

AFK Journey is home to a multitude of diverse PvE and PvP game modes. These game modes encompass various systems behind them that enable new players to progress and get stronger. While having a strong set of heroes is key to clearing these game modes, understanding what each of them brings is also equally important.

The World Map

An open world experience has taken the place of the main story progression, which involved hopping from stage to stage as it did in AFK Arena. You can explore it as you complete quests, take out adversaries, locate treasure, gather resources, work puzzles, and more! The world of Esperia is divided into chapters and areas, and in order to advance further, you must complete the quests in each area.

AFK Stages

AFK stages are essentially fights against opponents who are getting stronger all the time. You must first complete specific levels in this mode in order to access the majority of the other game modes and features.

Your ‘idle’ rewards are dependent on the stage you’ve reached, so always aim to advance as far down this path as you can. Fortunately, this mode includes an auto-challenge feature that lets you automatically move on to the next stage after defeating the current one. If your team is strong enough, this feature will prevent you from having to sit there for hours on end pressing the next button.

The highest level you can currently was stage 1125 on the test server. No maximum limit is currently known for the global version. By default, you have to collect the loot from afk enemies every 12 hours (though you can raise this by using the achievement system).

Dream Realm

In the boss rush mode Dream Realm, you compete with every other player on your server to see who can damage the boss the most. This game mode unlocks after you clear AFK Stage 16. There are four total bosses, and they are all different every day. The more damage you deal to the boss, the higher your score will be and the better the day’s rewards will be.

After you defeat a boss on one of the six available difficulties, you can move on to the next, which intensifies the battle but also awards you with more points and better rewards. If you successfully defeat every boss on all available difficulties for the first time, you will receive Invite Letters. You won’t have to waste time killing bosses on lower difficulties when they return because you will start at the highest difficulty level right away.

Honor Duel

Honor Duel is a fair play PVP mode where you can fight other players on an even playing field. The heroes you use in this mode are those that the game grants you through a card/shop system specific to the mode.

You must consider who counters whom and the synergies between heroes when assembling your team. In this scenario, both sides must “place” their heroes in waves across the battlefield in order to see what your opponent is planning and try to counter it. However, be cautious when displaying your strong hand because your opponent may do the same. You can earn rewards for reaching a certain number of wins in the weekly reward track.

Arena

Using your own roster of heroes, you take on defense teams that other players have assembled in the Arena, another player-versus-player mode. This game mode unlocks after you clear AFK Stage 20. When you win fights, you earn rank points; when you lose, you lose them. As you gain points, you will move up the League ladder, starting as a Novice and ending as a Champion.

The higher your league, the greater the daily and weekly rewards that you will receive. The game currently only features team versus team combat rather than 3vs3 PVP.

Arcane Labyrinth

In AFK Journey, the beloved Labyrinth reappears, but like the other game modes, it has also undergone some enhancements. This game mode unlocks after you clear AFK Stage 100. A weekly reward track has been implemented in place of the previous requirement to complete the mode every two days. Each run earns you points (higher difficulty = more points), which can be used to unlock different rewards. You can now work through the Lab at your own pace. For instance, you are free to complete all of the required runs as soon as the reset occurs in order to buy yourself a week off.

The actual gameplay has also undergone some modification. Upon entering a room, you can now choose between two other rooms, each of which will award you with a different prize for eliminating the enemy that is hidden inside.

Battle Drills

Though much smaller and easier to handle, Battle Drills is a competitive mode geared toward Guilds that is very similar to the Abyssal Expedition. This game mode unlocks after you clear AFK Stage 121. This mode’s objective is to advance through the monster-infested map by eliminating scouts, camps, and bosses in that order. By capturing strongholds, you can gather a variety of buffs that will strengthen your heroes and make it simpler for you to advance farther into enemy territory. If you want to rank at the top, coordination is essential!

Legend Trial

In essence, the Factional Tower system from AFK Arena is now called Legend Trial. This game mode unlocks after you clear AFK Stage 166. Depending on the day of the week, different trials open, and from these you can get the acorns, essence, and materials needed to ascend artifacts.

Playing AFK Journey on a bigger screen of your PC with BlueStacks without worrying about battery drainage and smooth gameplay, is highly recommended.
