Genesis War Tier List: Best Heroes to Collect

Genesis War invites you on a unique adventure to reclaim the fallen Pandragon kingdom, and to do so, you’ll need to assemble a team of heroes to use in strategic turn-based battles. As the spiritual successor to the 1990s “The War of Genesis” game series, this mobile RPG features a wide variety of heroes to collect, and if you’ve played the original game, some of them will feel quite familiar. So, which of these heroes are better and deserve a spot on your team? We’ve prepared this guide to answer that question.

Roles and Tiers in Genesis War
You’ll notice that Genesis War characters are divided into roles like ranger, gunner, fighter, and sister, but at its core, like many other mobile RPGs, there are three main roles here: tank, damage dealer, and support (healer/crowd control). When building your team, you should pay attention to these roles and try to create a balanced formation. We’ve prepared our tier list with these roles in mind and identified three tiers:
- S-tier: The best character you can add to your team for this role, unless a patch or update is released that completely changes the game’s balance.
- A-tier: Characters that are nearly as good as S-tier in most aspects, but they require a specific formation or a team composed of certain characters to reach their full potential.
- B-tier: Characters that can carry you through a significant portion of the game, but you should transition to A or S-tier characters in the end-game phase.

Keep in mind that we compiled this list at the end of April 2026, and that when making our selections, we considered not only the characters’ abilities but also how easy they are to obtain and play: you may have different preferences, and that’s perfectly normal. If you think a different character should be included in each tier, feel free to leave a comment and share your thoughts with everyone!
S-Tier Heroes
Durant Rembrandt

| Weapon Type | Sword and Shield | MOVE Range | 3 |
| ATK Range | 1 | HP (Max) | 537 |
| ATK (Max) | 147 | DEF (Base Max) | 37 |
Durant is one of the easiest tanks to obtain, and he truly reaches his full potential once he advances to Tier 3. If you choose the “Fortress” at this tier, you’ll have one of the most durable tanks in the game. This choice does, of course, limit his damage potential, but he can boost his defense to extremely high levels by self-buffing. Its starting passive also increases its defense by 10% and can restrict enemy movement.
Beradin

| Weapon Type | Staff and Rod | MOVE Range | 3 |
| ATK Range | 3 | HP (Max) | 365 |
| ATK (Max) | 194 | DEF (Base Max) | 24 |
Beradin’s best features become apparent when he reaches Tier 3. At this level, no matter which subclass you choose, you gain highly useful passive abilities. For example, after a fatal attack, you can transform into Crystal Form and survive with 70% HP (Frost Mage). As long as there’s an ally on an adjacent tile, you gain 30% more M-ATK with every attack (Royal Wizard). Finally, at the end of each turn, you can automatically apply a CC to an enemy (Dark Wizard).
Irene Sardes

| Weapon Type | Staff and Rod | MOVE Range | 3 |
| ATK Range | 3 | HP (Max) | 395 |
| ATK (Max) | 87 | DEF (Base Max) | 24 |
Irene is a hybrid character who can also function as a damage dealer, though she isn’t particularly strong in that role. When used as a healer, she performs exceptionally well in terms of automatic AoE healing, especially once she reaches Tier 3. For example, she can provide 20% more healing to all allies with HP below 50%, and she can heal all allies at once for up to 80% of her M-ATK. Plus, she’s quite easy to obtain.
A-Tier Heroes
Vincent Bernstein

| Weapon Type | Spear and Shield | MOVE Range | 3 |
| ATK Range | 1 | HP (Max) | 555 |
| ATK (Max) | 163 | DEF (Base Max) | 40 |
Vincent is a tank that’s a bit harder to obtain and has slightly better stats, but in higher tiers, he focuses more on buffing his teammates than himself. He’ll deal more damage than Durant and have only slightly lower defense, so you should decide which one to choose based on your team composition. If your team consists of heroes with very low defenses, Vincent will likely be the better choice.
Katherine Spancer

| Weapon Type | Sword and Greatsword | MOVE Range | 3 |
| ATK Range | 1 | HP (Max) | 558 |
| ATK (Max) | 175 | DEF (Base Max) | 32 |
Katherine’s defense is nearly as good as a tank, and if you choose “Dreadnought” in Tier 3, she can be used as an off-tank. Nearly all of her abilities allow her to buff herself and apply debuffs to enemies, enabling her to survive for extended periods without requiring constant attention from a healer. While her damage output may not be top-tier, if you’re looking for a durable damage dealer, Katherine is your best option.
Nina Philotes

| Weapon Type | Staff and Rod | MOVE Range | 3 |
| ATK Range | 3 | HP (Max) | 368 |
| ATK (Max) | 84 | DEF (Base Max) | 22 |
If you choose the Cabalist class when Nina reaches Tier 3, she gains access to the same abilities as Irene. At this tier, you can also choose the Summoner Lord class and use her as a damage dealer. If you choose the Saint class, you’ll get a healer specialized in “cure”—which is our recommendation. As a Saint, you can remove debuffs from every ally, which is particularly important in the endgame phase.
B-Tier Heroes
Erich Schultz

| Weapon Type | Spear | MOVE Range | 3 |
| ATK Range | 1 | HP (Max) | 479 |
| ATK (Max) | 140 | DEF (Base Max) | 36 |
Erich has the lowest defense among these tanks, but he has self-healing abilities and, as a paladin, can provide his team with numerous buffs. If you pair him with a good healer, he’ll be a valuable asset for a long time, and he’s also quite effective at dealing AoE damage (for a tank). However, keep in mind that he isn’t strong enough to withstand critical hits and debuffs in the end-game.
Erica Myers

| Weapon Type | Bow and Crossbow | MOVE Range | 3 |
| ATK Range | 4 | HP (Max) | 383 |
| ATK (Max) | 180 | DEF (Base Max) | 25 |
Erica has one of the longest attack ranges and deals massive damage, and she comes with lots of self-buffs that boost her critical hit chance. The only problem is that she’s a glass cannon: she can die very quickly and easily, which means she isn’t suitable for the endgame. However, until you reach that stage, she’ll be one of the best damage dealers you can add to your team.
Lina MacLorlein

| Weapon Type | Staff and Rod | MOVE Range | 3 |
| ATK Range | 3 | HP (Max) | 392 |
| ATK (Max) | 84 | DEF (Base Max) | 25 |
Lina’s passives are designed to automatically provide a small amount of healing and remove debuffs at the end of each attack. She can also revive herself once per battle. These abilities will be very useful up until the end-game phase, but since she isn’t a pure healer, the healing she provides starts to fall short at that stage. Still, we can say she’s the best support character you can add to your team until you find a better one.
No matter which characters you add to your team, don’t forget that playing Genesis War on PC with BlueStacks offers a much more enjoyable and seamless experience. You can play using a keyboard & mouse or a gamepad, and enjoy everything Genesis War has to offer on a big screen in a much more immersive way!
