You Are the Leader of the Radiants

Nightmare creatures, feeding on humanity’s fears and greed, have invaded the world: you are the leader of a team of girls known as “radiants” who are fighting against them. Your goal is to challenge the Nightmares in dynamic real-time battles and restore the Dream World to its former glory.

But you won’t just be fighting; you’ll also be able to build personal bonds with the radiants on your team: you can create a dream home for your girls and strengthen your connection by interacting with each of them between battles. We recommend doing this frequently, as your bond will develop, allowing them to gain access to new abilities.

This is essentially the core gameplay of Illusion Connect: Re: all your missions revolve around fighting enemies, and between battles you return to your dream home to boost your bond with your teammates. And the faster and easier you win battles, the faster you advance the story. To do this, you need to build a balanced team of radiants.

Rerolling at the Beginning

Illusion Connect: Re, like many other mobile RPGs, uses gacha mechanics to obtain new characters, requiring you to perform summons. The results are randomly determined, and it’s still quite early to create a definitive tier list. However, currently, Anna, Maki, and Miyuki are among the strongest characters you can obtain at the start of the game.

So, how do you do this? You are allowed to perform a free summon at the beginning of the game. The results are randomly determined, but you can restart the game and repeat this free summon until you get the characters you want: this is called “rerolling”.

You can easily reroll with BlueStacks: create a new instance, play the game until the free summon feature is unlocked, check the results, and if you haven’t obtained the characters you want, start all over again. We highly recommend doing this to be able to build a team of strong characters right from the start.

Basics of Team Building

You should try to build a balanced team, not just a strong one. This means your team should include characters capable of taking on different roles. You can’t expect to win every battle simply by stacking high-rarity SSR heroes. You need a team with diverse roles—damage dealers, defenders, and supports—and carefully choose who the leader will be.

The leader is the core unit of your team and must survive at all costs to win a battle. You must select your other units to support and keep them alive. Unless the battle scenario dictates otherwise, an ideal balanced team setup includes:

• 1 or 2 tanks
• 2 or 3 damage dealers
• At least 1 support with healing abilities
• A leader who can buff every team member

Roles are also important in battlefield placement: place tanks at the front, melee damage dealers behind them, and the support and leader furthest back. You can dynamically change unit positions during combat; don’t hesitate to move a character to a different location if they are at risk. You can use the auto-battle option until the mid-game, but you’ll soon reach a point where it’s insufficient: to succeed in “manual” battles, you’ll also need to upgrade your team members.

Upgrading Your Characters

Each character’s level and star count can be upgraded; you can do this using gold and XP potions. The problem is that this can be quite expensive: upgrade resources are limited and should only be used on certain heroes. We recommend creating one team for PvE and one for PvP, focusing only on the heroes in those teams, and prioritizing the PvE team.

Star upgrades are even more costly, so we recommend being even more frugal when choosing heroes to upgrade to the next level. As of June 2026, SR rarity heroes like Amon, Chiyo, and Pan are among the characters worth upgrading.

Remember that you can also strengthen your heroes by equipping them with R-tier gear: this is the best alternative if you can’t afford upgrade costs. You can also obtain a large portion of the resources you need by collecting daily login rewards.
