Silver Palace mixes detective work with fast, real time action, and its fights have a lot more going on than button mashing. Parries, stun bars, Executions, and character swaps all feed into one loop, and learning that loop early makes every fight easier. This Silver Palace combat guide breaks down every core mechanic, from reading enemy attacks to building a team that keeps the pressure on. Let’s dive in!

Silver Palace Combat Mechanics Explained

Elementa, the developers behind Silver Palace, reworked the combat system between the first and second beta tests based on player feedback. The result is a system where your actions and the enemy’s attacks constantly play off each other. Every fight follows the same basic loop:

  • Build and Spend: Attacks fill each character’s resource bar, and skills spend it.
  • React: Parry, dodge, or interrupt enemy attacks based on the warning color.
  • Break: Wear down the enemy’s stun bar until they get stunned.
  • Execute: Land a finisher for massive damage and team buffs.
  • Swap: Switch characters to trigger Tactical Assaults and keep the combo going.

Mashing attacks can get through weaker enemies, but bosses will punish it. The players who read enemy movements and cycle through their whole team are the ones who clear hard content with ease.

Silver Palace Skills, Resource Bars, and Ultimates

Silver Palace leans on a build and spend system instead of waiting on cooldowns. Basic and charged attacks fill a resource bar at the bottom center of the screen, and skills spend that bar. Skills have no cooldown at all, so the more you attack, the more often you can cast them. Some skills hold multiple charges, and some kits fill a second bar that unlocks stronger charged skills. Each character’s resource also has its own name and flavor, like Lorin’s Street Smarts or Rex’s Rage.

Because of this setup, even support characters want some time on the field to run their combos. Here are the main attack types every character kit is built around:

  • Basic Attack: Tap attack to run the combo chain and build the resource bar.
  • Charged Attack: Hold attack for a stronger hit that links back into the combo chain.
  • Pursuit Attack: A unique follow up attack performed after a dash.
  • Counter Attack: Attack right after a Perfect Dodge to strike during slow motion.
  • Skill: Spends the character’s resource bar, with no cooldown.
  • Ultimate: Charges up as you land hits and skills, then unleashes a big finisher.

A handy detail is how Charged Attacks connect to the combo. For Cinderella, a Basic Attack right after her Charged Attack jumps straight to the third hit of her chain instead of starting over. Opening with a Charged Attack saves time rather than wasting it.

Silver Palace Parry, Dodge, and Interrupt Explained

Enemies in Silver Palace show a colored circle before an attack lands, and each color tells you how to respond:

  • Yellow Circle (Parry): Block the hit, take less damage, and strike back. Parries also build stun on the enemy.
  • Red Circle (Dodge): This attack cannot be parried. Get out of the way instead.
  • Blue Circle (Interrupt): Hit the enemy with a strong attack to stop the move and stun them briefly.

The parry is the most valuable move in the game. It is a quick tap, not a hold, and it works best when pressed just before the attack connects. Beta players found the window fairly generous, but a missed parry knocks the character back and leaves them open. A clean parry also generates Silverdrip, which speeds up how fast the team earns Reactor Energy for Tactical Assaults. Some bosses throw long chains of attacks, and each hit in that chain has to be parried one by one.

Dodging covers the attacks that cannot be parried, such as grabs and large area attacks. In the Dichotomy build, dodging costs stamina, so rolling around every attack will leave the character empty at the worst moment. Parry anything with a yellow warning and save dodges for the red ones. Timing a dodge right before the hit lands triggers a Perfect Dodge, which slows time and opens a free window to counterattack.

Some enemy attacks come out very fast with only a short warning. This is where tanky Guardian characters and healers earn their team slot.

Silver Palace Stun Gauge, Execution, and Weakened State

Every enemy has a stun gauge sitting right under their HP bar. Attacks, parries, and skills all wear it down, and characters with the Break Suppressor role empty it the fastest. The Stun Buildup Bonus stat also increases how much stun each hit deals.

Once the gauge breaks, the enemy stops all actions and an Execution prompt appears for a short time. An Execution is the biggest single hit in any rotation. On top of the raw damage, it gives the whole party a damage boost, charges Silverdrip, and puts the enemy into a Weakened State. During this state, the enemy takes lowered defense and builds Resonance faster, making it the perfect time to unload every skill.

A smart habit is to use the stunner to break the enemy, then swap to the main DPS right before the Execution so the strongest character gets the finisher. Keep in mind that some bosses have phases where their stun gauge barely moves, so the Execution will not always come when expected.

Silver Palace Character Swapping and Tactical Assault

Almost every action in combat fills up Reactor Energy, which appears as a Roman numeral (I, II, or III) on the screen. Up to three bars can be stored at once. Switching to another character with at least one full bar triggers a Tactical Assault, a powerful entry attack that deals heavy damage and grants invincibility frames.

Each character’s Tactical Assault also triggers a unique effect from their kit, such as a buff, a heal, a shield, or extra attribute damage. With three bars saved up, players can fire off three Tactical Assaults back to back for a huge burst window. Try not to waste bars on enemies that are about to die anyway, and remember that characters keep recharging their abilities while off the field.

Synchronized Combat

Silver Palace also lets two characters fight at the same time through Synchronised Combat. When a character uses a Charged Attack or Charged Skill, swapping out keeps that character on the field until their move finishes. The incoming character can start attacking on top of it, stacking the damage from both at once.

Casual Mode in Silver Palace

Not everyone wants to practice parry windows, and Silver Palace has an official Casual Mode for a more relaxed experience:

  • Repeated attack presses trigger stylish combos with no precise timing needed.
  • A Time Dilation effect slows things down during dangerous moments.
  • A warning prompt appears when the character is about to get hit.

It works well for players who want to enjoy the story first and learn the deeper combat systems later.

Silver Palace Reactor Attributes and Resonance

Every character belongs to one of seven Reactor Attributes, which decide their damage type:

  • Ignis: Fire damage
  • Glacies: Cold damage
  • Fulmen: Electric damage
  • Gravitas: Gravity or void damage
  • Radiatio: Radiation damage
  • Alba: Light damage
  • Ferrugo: Corrosion damage, with no playable character in the beta so far

As characters attack, they build a Resonance meter on the enemy. Once it fills, a Resonance Effect triggers based on their attribute and deals a big damage boost. Fielding more characters of the same attribute fills that meter faster, so building around one attribute is basically free damage.

Attribute matching matters for buffs too. Red Rose, for example, is an Ignis support who boosts Ignis damage, which makes her a natural partner for an Ignis DPS like Cinderella.

Silver Palace Character Roles Change your Playstyle

Each character also has a Combat Style, which is their actual role in a fight. There are five of them:

  • Resonance DPS: Stays on the field longer and deals damage by triggering Resonance Effects.
  • Striker DPS: Hits hard with skills and crits, then swaps out quickly.
  • Break Suppressor: Empties the enemy’s stun gauge fast to set up Executions. Alf, Captain Kaboom, and Lorin fill this role.
  • Combat Support: Deals low damage but provides team buffs and enemy debuffs.
  • Survival & Healing: Keeps the team alive with heals and shields.

Older beta footage used different names for these roles, like Striker Output or Break Oppressor, but they are the same five. Also keep in mind that a character’s Identity (Hero, Guardian, Outlaw, and so on) is not their combat role. Identity decides which Motives work with them and which materials they need to level up.

Players can enjoy Silver Palace even more on a bigger screen of their PC or Laptop with keyboard and mouse via BlueStacks for an elevated gameplay experience.
