Tips & Tricks to Playing Stormshot
Not many players stick around after they play Stormshot for a few days because they’re not huge fans of the gameplay that the genre brings. These games are mostly for people who are more dedicated to completing a goal and it can take months for a server to conclude with the longest ones lasting years. For players who are committed to this goal, it can be a tough task but with a little bit of help, we can give you the best possible start that allows you to survive until the very end.
Stormshot uses a lot of advanced gaming mechanics that can really prove to be a challenge to players who are looking to compete against the top cut. As a beginner who has no experience in the genre, it can be difficult to get into this kind of space since most of the veterans have had several years of trial and error to get into the level they’re in now. However, with this guide, we can steer you towards the right path and hopefully make the players have an easier time learning the game with these tips and tricks.
Check Your Inventory!
The biggest mistake that players make is not checking their inventory for important items such as resource packs and speedups. These are extremely useful, especially packs that include gold because that is a premium resource that players can use to purchase a variety of things such as having secondary builders. Try to explore what you have in your inventory but we don’t suggest that you redeem all of them at once because you might end up with an overflow of resources that you don’t need.
Speedups are another important item that you can see on your inventory. Players shouldn’t be afraid to use these items, especially in the early stages of the game where most of these items should be used. Being able to maximize your speedups in the early stages of the game allows your estate to be at a higher level that enables faster and more efficient production. We encourage players to use their speedups on anything above 1 minute as long as they play actively.
Keep Your Estate Busy
Keeping your estate busy is one of the most simple strategies that players need to understand when playing an RTS game. Real-time strategy games reward players who are able to make use of their time efficiently in being able to do as many useful actions as possible in a short amount of time. While we’re not telling you to keep your eyes and hands glued on Stormshot every second of the day, it will prove to be a good idea to always have your workers busy on the estate.
Keeping your settlement busy is done by always having something done in construction, research, troop training, and troop movement. By having all of these sectors active, you are constantly ensuring that your estate is moving towards becoming stronger, earning kingdom power, and getting the proper structures at the highest level. It’s fairly easy to do these tasks since you only have to spend 5 minutes every hour clicking on various stuff to have them done.
Send Your Troops Out
The most difficult task that you may have in Stormshot will be mobilizing your army since you can run out of enemies to attack in your vicinity. In this case, just keep attacking whenever you go online so that you earn important resources that you’ll need in the future when upgrading your estate. We already mentioned how this can be extremely impactful in our Economy Guide. Attacking can be a double-edged sword, so don’t pick a fight with an enemy player that you think is actively playing the game.
When sending your troops out to fight against enemies, make sure that you include a proper hero to lead them. We previously made a Hero Tier List, so check that out to get a better idea of which units will lead your army more efficiently in battle. In any case, being able to attack efficiently should be your primary concern since it’s not worth losing more than 10% of your army every time you try to attack. Try to pick targets you can overwhelm in a decisive victory to ensure that you’re only profiting from these attacks.
Complete Your Dailies
Daily tasks exist in every mobile game nowadays and Stormshot also has its share of daily missions and activities. This tip is somewhat related to keeping your estate busy because you can complete daily missions simply by doing all the tasks available in your settlement. While it might not sound fun to do your dailies every day, it’s important because these missions allow players to keep track of their progress and earn valuable rewards in the process.
Completing missions and quests are a good way to earn valuable rewards that can be used to upgrade your settlement. Resources can be pretty scarce, especially if you haven’t established a functional economy yet in the early to mid stages of your gameplay. There are also seasonal events that get released occasionally that players will want to participate in because they include tons of rewards with a lot of them being time-limited and can really push you towards a successful path early on.
Join an Alliance
Alliances are the most important part of any real-time strategy game, especially if you’re a beginner who doesn’t know your way around the genre. Joining an alliance establishes your standing in the world, with players significantly less likely to attack you because they are aware that you have the backing of powerful players. Take note that it’s always better to join a powerful alliance than to create your own if you want to establish security.
Once a player has joined an alliance, it’s a good idea to migrate your settlement to an area near your best players because it allows them to be able to protect you more efficiently because the travel time won’t take as long. While you might be forced to compete for resources, it’s still better than being bullied by other players who are stronger than you.
