As a roguelite game, your approach to the combat in Vampire Survivors will, more often than not, boil down to your character selection. Particularly since there are 25 base characters, and 16 secret characters, you can basically greatly alter the way you play the game simply by choosing specific characters. Whether these differences revolve around having different base stats, or around some of these characters having unique passive bonuses, your gameplay and strategy will vary considerably depending on your choice.

Regardless of the characters that you choose, however, you’ll still need the best tools and features at your disposal if you want to win your matches in this game. Porta Ladonna

• Initial Weapon: Lightning Ring.

Lama Ladonna

• Initial Weapon: Axe.

Suor Clerici

• Initial Weapon: Santa Water.

• Stats: +0.5 Recovery, +50 HP, +400% Area.

• Growth: -100% Area every level until level 5.

• How to Unlock: Restore a total of 1,000 HP over the course of the game (no limit on the number of runs required to reach this amount), then purchase Suor for at least 500g.

Dommario

• Initial Weapon: King Bible.

• Stats: +40% Projectile Speed, +40% Duration, -40% Speed.

• How to Unlock: Collect at least 5,000g in a single run, then purchase Dommario for at least 500g.

Krochi Freeto

• Initial Weapon: Cross.

• Stats: 1 Revival, +30 Speed.

• Growth: +1 Revival at level 33.

• How to Unlock: Defeat a total of 100,000 over the course of the game (no limit on the number of runs required to reach this number), then purchase Krochi for at least 500g.

Christine Davain

• Initial Weapon: Pentagram.

• Stats: +1 Level, -50 HP, -35% Might, -25% Cooldown, +30 Speed.

As you can see, each Vampire Survivors character has their own stats and unique properties, which can slightly or even greatly alter your experience and approach to fighting enemies and surviving. And while each of these have their own niches, they’re all equally viable when you know how to build them. Of course, it goes without saying that some of these characters will have an easier time actually winning matches, while others might be better suited for challenges. Either way, they’re all awesome and fun to play as.

With this guide, you now not only know what each character has to offer so that you can hopefully pick and choose the ones that interest you the most, but also how to go about and unlock each and every one of them. The good thing is that, despite there being quite a few of these, most of them are unlocked simply by playing and exploring through the various levels in the game, so you won’t really have to go out of your way, except in very specific cases.
