The‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌ world of Where Winds Meet is vast, stunning, and full of mysteries, but your map is nearly empty at the beginning. If you want to uncover the whole world, you have to find the wandering Wayfarers that are scattered in Qinghe and Kaifeng regions. Each of them gives you a part of the local map, which makes it easier to explore and helps you locate quests, fast travel points, and secret places. This guide helps you understand the location of every Wayfarer, so that you can quickly access the full ‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌map for an easier time exploring.

How Wayfarer’s Work in Where Winds Meet?

Wayfarers‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌ are the inquisitive travellers who, in fact, have mapped the territories surrounding the world of Where Winds Meet. By simply communicating with them, you unlock huge parts of your World Map in one go. Instead of gradually revealing the area by physically going through it, you get an instant detailed version of the region with all the roads, rivers, and mountains marked as well as the Boundary Stones for quick travel and all the major landmarks. You can also quickly identify them from afar as they have large hat-wearing eagles frequently perched next to them.

Before you talk to any of the Wayfarers, put your game in Solo Mode. The map unlock notification is sometimes buggy in multiplayer, so if you play solo, you are sure to get the map fragment. In case you find it difficult to find a Wayfarer, have a look at your World Map and read the region description. When you click on the prompt that refers to asking the local Wayfarer for information, it will show you the area where you need to ‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌go.

All Wayfarer Locations in Qinghe

Qinghe is the first major province you explore and it introduces you to the Wayfarer system early on. There are three Wayfarers here, positioned along routes you naturally visit during your first chapters. Their locations are as follows:

Verdant Wilds Wayfarer – This‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌ is typically the first Wayfarer with whom players come into contact. He is the one you find by your starting village near the Bamboo Abode in the prologue. If you communicate with him, he provides you with your first fragment of the map along with a handy secret word that later on becomes very helpful when you speak with other Wayfarers. Opening the Verdant Wilds map shows the roads to the north as well as the villages close by that turn up in your first game of the new ‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌script.

Moonveil Mountain Wayfarer – While‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌ making your way to Heaven’s Pier in Chapter 1, you will drive over a long bridge that curves over the river. On a rock by the water is the Moonveil Mountain Wayfarer. His piece of the map shows the cliffs and the trails going to Heaven’s Pier. Since there are a lot of walls in this area, having a complete map is the safest way to ascend and descend the mountain.

Sundara Land Wayfarer – The‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌ Sundara Land Wayfarer is located at a small campfire up a ridge close to the Halo Peak Courier Post. To get to him, you need to have the Lightness Skill Platform up the mountain, but in return, he gives you a full view of Sundara Land. This area has meandering paths and concealed nooks, hence, revealing this map is a great way to familiarize yourself with the ‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌area.

All Wayfarer Locations in Kaifeng

Kaifeng mixes grand city areas with open farmlands and rugged desert. It contains four Wayfarers, each placed along natural travel routes or major locations. Their locations are as follows:

Granary of Plenty Wayfarer – If‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌ you travel to Kaifeng City, you can see a vast agricultural plain with lots of granaries. Heaps of grain that will be visible from the road. The Granary of Plenty Wayfarer is raised on a wooden platform and is encircled by these stores. This map fragment exposes the fields that run to the capital making the journey from the port to the city more ‌ ‍ ‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌understandable.

Kaifeng City Wayfarer – This‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌ Wayfarer is the one who is not inside city streets of Kaifeng. Rather, he can be found looking down upon them from the city walls. If you want to find him, just walk into the city through the South Gate, take a right and go up the stairs to the ramparts. At first, he only shows the whole layout of Kaifeng City, but later, he also provides other maps and hints about the city’s leisure places. It becomes a lot easier to traverse through the capital when this map is ‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌unlocked.

Jadewood Court Wayfarer – After‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌ sightseeing the Imperial Garden, head over to the rope pulley station that goes down to Jadewood Court. The Wayfarer will be standing there by the pulley mechanism with his map spread out. The map is showing the area of Jadewood Court as well as the gardens around, which are hard to navigate around because they have several layers of paths and very narrow ‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌walkways.

Roaring Sands Wayfarer – If‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌ you want to find the Roaring Sands Wayfarer, you should leave Willowshade Village from the east and hike up the ridge that is close by. The place is arid, exposed, and characterized by long ridgelines, so it is quite possible that you have not seen him if you haven’t come close. After you interact with him, the whole area of the Roaring Sands will be visible to you on your map, showing the routes for the journey through the eastern ‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌deserts.
