Wuthering Waves is a beautifully narrated story-based action RPG that see’s you role-play as a Rover on a mission to recover your lost memories of the Lament. The game see’s you befriend many new Resonators and form a new squad whose aim is to surmount the Lament. In this tier list, we have curated speculative rankings of all the characters that are available at the time of global launch. These rankings are based on several factors – base rarity, resonance skills, and accessibility. Let’s begin!

S Tier Characters

Let’s take a look at all of the Characters in this tier:

Jiyan

Jiyan is a 5-Star Aero elemental Resonator who uses Broadblade type weapons. His resonance skill Windqueller states that he dashes forward a certain distance, causing Aero damage. This skill can be used in air. His resonance liberation skill Emerald Storm: Prologue states that after casting it, Jiyan enters the Qingloong mode. In the Qingloong mode, using Basic Attack or Heavy Attack will cast Lance of Qingloong. Perform up to 3 continuous attacks, causing Aero damage, this damage is Heavy Attack damage.

Calcharo

Calcharo is a 5-Star Electro elemental Resonator who uses Broadblade type weapons. His resonance skill Extermination Order states that Calcharo swings the Broadblade to attack the target, causing Electro damage. The Resonance Skill Extermination Order can be cast 3 times in a row. If not cast in a short time, it will enter a cooldown, with a cooldown time of 10 seconds.

Baizhi

Baizhi is a 4-Star Glacio elemental Resonator who uses Rectifier type weapon. Her resonance skill Momentary Union states that Baizhi restores HP for the entire team when summoning You’tan, generating 4 stacks of Remnant Entities. Remnant Entities follow party members and automatically attack targets every 2.5s, dealing Glacio damage on hit while restoring HP for all party members nearby.

Yinlin

Yinlin is a 5-Star Electro elemental Resonator who uses Rectifier type weapon. Her resonance skill Magnetic Roar states that the puppet Zapstring deals Electro damage to the target within the range, and puts Yinlin into the [Magnetic State], lasting for 8 seconds. The puppet Zapstring will be in a discharged condition during the [Magnetic condition], amplifying Yinlin’s Basic Attack and Evasion Attack and inciting [Judgment Attack] upon delivering damage. Each Basic Attack can occur up to four times, but trigger only once.

Verina

Verina is a 5-Star Spectro elemental Resonator who uses Rectifier type weapon. Her resonance skill Botany Experiment states that she gathers energy forward, causing some plants to grow rapidly, dealing Spectro damage within range. Her active ability Arboreal Flourish Healing Amount states that Verina nourishes nearby foliage at rapid speed, dealing Spectro damage while restoring HP for all party members nearby. A Photosynthesis Mark is attached to the target upon an on-hit attack.

A Tier Characters

Encore

Encore is a 5-Star Fusion elemental Resonator who uses Rectifier type weapon. Her resonance skill Thermal Wooly states that encore summons Cloudy and Cosmos, and attack the target with high-temperature rays, causing Fusion damage. There will be angry points all over Encore after using Thermal Wooly. When the angry points reappear, Cloudy and Cosmos will combine to provide an attack that will deal Fusion damage if Thermal Wooly is utilized once more.

Mortefi

Mortefi is a 4-Star Fusion elemental Resonator who uses Rectifier type weapon. His resonance skill Passionate Variation states that Mortefi launches a high-speed flame lightning forward, causing Fusion damage to nearby enemies.

Jianxin

Jianxin is a 5-Star Aero elemental Resonator who uses Gauntlets type weapon. Her resonance skill Calming Air activates when you long press the Resonance Skill stance to parry the target’s next attack. When the parry is successful, you are immune to the attack damage and cast Aero Counter, causing Aero damage. When you release the skill button in the stance, the stance will be interrupted in advance and an attack will be launched, causing Aero damage.

Lingyang

Lingyang is a 5-Star Glacio elemental Resonator who uses Gauntlets type weapon. Her resonance skill Ancient Arts states that Lingyang attacks the target, causing Glacio damage. When the 3rd, 4th, 5th Basic Attacks hit the target, the Resonance Skill Ancient Arts is replaced by the Resonance Skill Swift Punches. After casting Feral Roars, casting the Resonance Skill Swift Punches and then casting Basic Attack again, the 3rd Basic Attack will be cast. Lingyang’s Resonance Skill will not interrupt the Basic Attack cycle.

B Tier Characters

Yangyang

Yangyang is a 4-Star Aero elemental Resonator who uses Sword type weapon. Her resonance skill Breezy Domain states that Yangyang uses the Sword to divide the wind field and attract the surrounding targets to the center of the wind field, causing Aero damage.

Aalto

Aalto is a 4-Star Aero elemental Resonator who uses Pistol type weapon. His resonance skill Shift Trick states that Aalto casts Mist and a Mist Avatar to taunt the surrounding targets. The avatar inherits a portion of Aalto’s health and generates 6 Mist Bullets around the enemy, causing Aero damage.

Yuanwu

Yuanwu is a 4-Star Electro elemental Resonator who uses Gauntlets type weapon. His resonance skill Leihunang Master states that Yuanwu summons the Thunder Wedge, causing Electro damage, and forms a Thunder Pool centered on the Thunder Wedge. When a character on the team hits a target while in the Thunder Pool, the Thunder Wedge will coordinate an attack, causing Electro damage, which can be triggered once every 1.2 seconds.
