It hasn’t been long since Valve initiated the limited testing of their newest shooter, Counter Strike 2, and dataminers have already managed to dig up game files that suggest a mobile version of the game being on the horizon.

The Counter-Strike community was taken by storm when Valve announced the release of the CS:GO successor through a series of videos on March 21. While only a few players have managed to gain access to CS2 so far (about 3% of the CS:GO player base), the hype revolving around the game is constantly escalating as time progresses.

What’s even more exciting is the fact that the buzz surrounding Counter-Strike 2 isn’t confined solely to the PC gaming community. Despite the franchise’s overwhelmingly dominant PC player count, recent leaks suggest that a mobile version of Counter Strike 2 might already be in the works.

According to a Tweet posted by prominent Counter-Strike dataminer ‘Aquarius’, CS2 contains  lines of code that strongly indicate a mobile version of the game is currently in development. The console commands that Aquarius showcased in his Tweet include commands for an increment in FPS during charging and an FPS cap for mobiles.

It goes without saying that should Valve decide to bring their iconic FPS franchise to android and iOS devices, it would revolutionize the world of mobile gaming forever. Currently, CS:GO is available to play on PC, Xbox 360, Playstation 3, macOS, and Linux platforms.

Valve has confirmed that Counter-Strike 2 is all set for its full release in Summer 2023. Meanwhile, if you’re looking to scratch your itch for playing competitive shooters on your Android device, feel free to check out other popular titles like Critical Strike or Call of Duty Mobile on Bluestacks.
