RAID: Shadow Legends – City of Sintranos Update Brings Eclipse Tower, Cursed City, and More Features Coming with Patch 8.00

In the newest update, RAID: Shadow Legends aims to bring a host of new gameplay changes with the addition of its ever-growing set of game modes. The difficulty will only spike, adding to the joy of veterans who have felt that the game’s difficulty has only stagnated with time. The patch brought a lot of new stuff to our beloved turn-based RPG. More QOL improvements, a new free legendary mythical champion, some extra resources, and everybody’s favourite – more ways to get some extra shards! Let’s check out everything new that was added to the game with the latest update.

Cursed City

For players Level 52 and up, Cursed City is a brand-new game mode. A brand-new map with 101 Stages of various types and difficulty levels will be yours to explore. You are free to choose how to navigate the Cursed City of Sintranos, unlike the Doom Tower, and you can even skip some stages if you’d like! Not that we would advise it: there will be some intriguing rewards at each Stage, but more on that later. A new rotation will start after a month in which you must finish the Cursed City and defeat Amius the Lunar Archon, the game’s boss. After that, all of your progress will be lost. Additionally, each new rotation will bring changes that set each playthrough apart from the last, even though the map itself won’t be altered.

RAID: Shadow Legends – City of Sintranos Update Brings Eclipse Tower, Cursed City, and More Features Coming with Patch 8.00

There will be two game modes available: Normal and Hard. You begin on Hard by default, but you can always go back to Normal. Just keep in mind that you only get a certain number of Cursed City Keys every day, which are needed to access any Cursed City Stage (the Eclipse Tower excluded). Even though you’ll have enough Keys each month to finish both Difficulties, it’s usually a better idea to plan your progress.

This game mode will have 4 distinct districts, each well equipped with 25 Stages:

  • Cobblemarket (Easy)
  • Deadrise (Medium)
  • Plagueholme (Medium)
  • Soulcross (Hard)

Above it all, the Eclipse Tower is guarded by arcane gates that you must locate three eclipse keys in the city to open. Even though your journey always begins in Cobblemarket, you are free to explore Sintranos at your leisure and forge your own route through the districts, taking any detours you like or taking on every obstacle in your way.

The number of distinct stages in each district will always be the same: sixteen Regular Stages, three Awakened Stages, three Boss Stages, and three Double Boss Stages. This is how they function:

In three rounds, you engage in combat with opposing teams of Champions in Regular Stages. Even though Cursed City Stages will present more difficulties than you may be accustomed to, you should already be familiar with the procedure.

The fundamental idea of Awakened Stages is the same, but in order to access them, you must meet certain Awakening Level requirements. For instance, you can bring one champion with awakening level 5 or two champions with awakening levels 3 and 2, if you need awakening level 5. While not required to finish the Cursed City, these Stages provide an alternate path through Sintranos and some intriguing rewards.

The most formidable Bosses in Teleria will appear as mystical reflections in the Boss Stages. But don’t let up; whether or not they are reflections, they still have the same impact! Luckily, these Bosses get harder as you progress through the district, so you won’t have to deal with the worst of them until Soulcross.

As implied by the name, Double Boss Stages are exclusive to the Cursed City game mode and will match you up against two bosses at once! Districts will also increase in difficulty, but even Cobblemarket Boss teams will be challenging to defeat.

Amius the Lunar Archon resides in the Eclipse Tower, which is the last structure. As previously stated, in order to enter, you must locate three Eclipse Keys, which are located on Double Boss Stages. With the exception of Soulcross, each rotation, the location is random and changes, but you can always find one per District. The Eclipse Key is visible in the Stage rewards.

STAGE RESTRICTIONS

All Stages in the Cursed City mode, including Boss Stages, will have one of several Restrictions required to access. These will change with each rotation and depend on the Difficulty you’ve chosen, but the overall list can be found below:

  • Rarity – Only Champions of a specific Rarity can enter the Stage.
  • Affinity – Only Champions of a specific Affinity can enter the Stage.
  • Faction or Alliance – Only Champions belonging to a specific Faction or Alliance can enter the Stage.
  • Type – Only Champions of a specific Type can enter the Stage.
  • Awakened Stages always require a specific number of Awakening Levels on your Team to access the Stage on top of the other randomized restriction.

QUESTS AND REWARDS

Every rotation, you’ll get multiple Cursed City Quests. These revolve around defeating Amius the Lunar Archon, finishing a certain number of Awakened Stages, and so forth. You can obtain a special series of one-time rewards, including a brand-new Mythical Champion named Karnage the Anarch, by finishing Cursed City Quests on Hard.

You then continue to obtain Occult Cursed Candles (on Hard) in order to unlock Cursed City Chests that contain a variety of goodies. Playing on Normal grants you Cursed Candles in place of the one-time reward chain and Cursed City Chests, which have a different reward pool than their Hard Difficulty equivalent.

First-time Cursed City Stage defeaters will also receive a number of goodies, such as Chests holding new Gear Sets, a new Charm that can be used to craft Mythical Artifacts in the Forge, and Cursed Remnants, which can be gathered to summon Epic and Mythical Champions. After the current rotation concludes, these rewards reset and can be earned once more in subsequent playthroughs.

New Gear Sets

Super Sonic and Merciless are Variable (9) Gear Sets that provide new bonuses for each Artifact or Accessory equipped by the Champion. Check them out:

Mythical Item Crafting

A new special Charm called Mythical Charm will have its own slot in the Forge. By including it in the recipe, you will increase the likelihood—though not the certainty—that the item in question is made with legendary rarity. To boost that likelihood, combine Mythical Charms with Rarity Charms.

As previously stated, Cursed City Stage rewards include Mythical Charm, which you can use to craft any and all Artifact Sets in the Forge. However, only Rank 5 and 6 Artifacts can be created using Mythical Charms.

Additionally, Mythical Chaos Ore—which you can use to rework Mythical Artifacts—is being added. Although the general idea is the same as for regular Chaos Ore, you can learn every little detail by consulting the in-game guide when it launches.
