Alchemy Stars – Bethlehem, Novio, and Lola Guide and Review
The newest Aurorians coming to Alchemy Stars, the award winning turn-based puzzle RPG by Tencent Games have just arrived along with the latest time-limited event titled “Sands of Time”. The tile-based gacha game boasts its strategic gameplay and cute 3D chibi sprites of beautiful characters called “Aurorians”. Alchemy Stas follow their tradition of introducing new Aurorians for all of their time-limited events in a timely manner. This month was no different as all players were teased with the upcoming Aurorian previews on their official social media outlets.
Sands of Time, the latest event by Alchemy Stars bought with it a new storyline for the event, new event-specific aurorians Bethlehem, Novio, and Lola. It also brought with it the usual tradition of collecting event currencies and exchanging them in the event exchange shop for juicy rewards. This ensures that no player can complete the whole event in a single day. The event shop gives out the featured 5-Star Aurorian “Lola” for free along with her Solambers to MAX Breakthrough her. That’s quite the generosity. In this article, we will give a brief overview of the new Aurorians coming with the Sands of Time event – Bethlehem, Novio, and Lola. Bethlehem and Novio, out of the 3 mentioned Aurorians are available to be summoned through their special time-limited recruitment. Players can summon for them using the Special Star Flares.
Alchemy Stars gacha/summoning system is very straightforward and player-friendly. Banners are divided into event/time-limited banners and regular/rotating banners. Each banner uses up a different currency to summon – Special Star Flares and Star Flares, respectively for each type of banner. These Star Flares can be bought by using the premium currency Lumambers at an exchange rate of 300 Lumamber per Star Flare/Special Star Flare. They can also be earned via events, compensations, log-in rewards, and achievements in-game. As Bethlehem and Novio are event Aurorians, they are available through their own time-limited banners. Players can summon them with the base rate of 2% just like any other 6-Star Aurorian in the game till 50 summons. After 50 summons, the rates will increase by 2.5% per summon for summoning a 6-Star Aurorian. There exists no pity for a specific character but at least players who have saved up enough summons can be assured to summon a 6-Star Aurorian with the rate up.
Bethlehem is a Water elemental type hero which is classified as a Converter type. She has a low Attack of 2506 and a medium HP of 6495. Bethlehem’s Active ability states that she can convert 4 of any selected tiles to Blue colored tiles. This skill is on a 4 turn cooldown. Bethlehem’s equipment ability states that whenever Bethlehem uses her Active skill or enters Aurora time, she gets a bonus 10% Attack for this round, and all the other Aurorians will also get 5% of Bethlehem basic Attack increase. This means she can easily boost all the team’s Attacks just when she uses her Active ability or gets an Aurora Time triggered after traveling 14 of the same colored tiles. However, her cooldown on her Active ability is quite high which makes this skill a little more balanced. Her chain skills are damage in different shaped tiles increasing according to the number of tiles traveled. Here are her skills in detail: –
Active Ability: Converts any 4 selected tiles to Blue.
Equipment Ability: Upon using an Active Skill or entering Aurora Time, Bethlehem’s basic ATK is increased by 10% for this round, and other Water Aurorians will also gain an ATK increase of 5% of Bethlehem’s basic ATK.

If there is any excess healing, deals damage to enemies within 2 surrounding clusters equal to the excess recovered value regardless of defense. When Novio enters Aurora Time, the Shield will get converted to HP. This active skill is on a very low cooldown of 2 turns. This makes Novio already one of the best healers as he has very high HP and can provide massive heals and shield to all allies for boosted survivability.
Novio’s equipment ability makes him do different effects on his normal attacks. If all team is at full HP, Novio’s normal attacks will deal 10% more damage along with his chain combos. This damage can increase to 25% more damage if he has Shield on him. If all team is not at full HP, Novio’s normal attack will heal instead and the healing amount will be equal to 25% of his Attack.
