ARK LEGENDS is the latest addition to the list of hyped games coming in 2022 for mobile! The top-down 3D RPG by Melting Games has just announced its open beta test version that offers a no-wipe policy. Players can make as much progress as they want with their progress saved even when the game officially launches. Currently available as a free-to-play title on only the Google Play Store in select countries, ARK LEGENDS will also be available on the iOS App Store upon global release which is expected to take place either in December 2022 or January 2023. Featuring the massive continent of Arthuka, ARK LEGENDS combines the various features that are usually seen in MMORPGs and the usual top-down RPGs. Players can explore the world of ARK LEGENDS in a live 3D manner along with their friends as if they were playing an MMORPG but the battles take place in a simulated automatic way like we see in games like King’s Raid and Figure Fantasy.

ARK LEGENDS Beginners Guide – Master the Basics to Progress Faster

ARK LEGENDS is quite a heavy game with multiple systems in place to keep the players engaged. However, many players get confused with the different systems and different currencies that are available to be explored and collected at the start of a game. One of the biggest confusing aspects of ARK LEGENDS might be the confusion that many players have while building their heroes and questioning whether they are building them the right way or not. Do not worry as we will try our best to answer all these questions and explain the systems in detail according to the best of our knowledge.

ARK LEGENDS Beginners Guide – Master the Basics to Progress Faster

In this beginner guide for ARK LEGENDS, we will be explaining some of the most basic areas of the game that players will be dealing with as they enter the land of Arthuka continent and aboard the Syella train. We will be trying to provide the explanations in a very layman language such that all players, veterans or new, will understand the meaning behind them. We highly recommend players make their own decisions by taking reference from this guide as ARK LEGENDS is still very much a new game and has still not been globally released. Many of these systems might change in the future when ARK LEGENDS releases globally worldwide. Here are the different sub-topics being covered in this guide:

  • Basics of Summoning System
  • Understanding the Battle System and Combat Mechanics
  • Understanding the Different Currencies
  • Missions Guide

Basics of Summoning System

ARK LEGENDS is a gacha game that requires the players to summon new heroes through different summoning banners available in the game. Players can get these heroes from the in-game summoning system known as “Syella Train” which unlocks after players complete the tutorial. Similarly, like other gacha games, the heroes that possess a higher rarity have a lower chance of being summoned while the heroes that possess the lowest rarity have the highest chance of being summoned.

  • B Grade Heroes – 66% Probability of being summoned

Players can obtain these Sinners from the different summoning banners available in the Arrest section. Here are the different summoning banners new players will see when they first go to the Arrest menu:

  • The Ark Set Sail Beginner Summoning Banner – This is a special beginner’s banner that is made available to all players starting their adventure in ARK LEGENDS. In this banner, players are guaranteed to get an SS-ranked hero in the first 10 summons they do. Players are guaranteed to get an SS ranked Nora after they make 30 summons on the banner. Each 10 pull costs 10 Superior Iron Cores. Keep in mind that a limited pool of S-ranked heroes and SS ranked heroes is available from this summoning banner.
  • Set Sail at Dawn Summoning Banner – This is a permanent special banner that exists for players who are looking to summon their desired SS ranked hero from the diverse pool of heroes. This banner contains all B-SS ranked heroes and players can select their desired SS-ranked hero that will have a rate-up to be summoned if players manage to summon a SS ranked hero. Keep in mind that this banner uses a different currency that is available very scarcely through events.
  • Light and Shadow Summoning Banner – In this summoning banner, players can summon S-SS ranked heroes using their Epic Iron Cores. This banner contains all the non-exclusive heroes available in the game. Players are guaranteed a SS ranked hero if they do not summon one within 25 summons.
  • Regular Summoning Banner (The Journey) – In this summoning banner, players can summon B-S ranked sinners using their Standard Iron Cores. This banner contains all the above-mentioned rarity of heroes available in the game. Further, players are guaranteed to summon an S-ranked hero in 150 summons.

Here is a brief overview of the different summoning currencies used:

  • Standard Iron Core– A starter to summon new heroes in the Syella station. Players can use their Standard Iron Cores to summon on The Journey summoning banner.
  • Superior Iron Core – A starter to summon all heroes in Syella Station. Players can use their Superior Iron Cores to summon on The Ark Set Sail summoning banner.

  • Brave Heart – A special item from the Bounty Union. Players can use their Brave Hearts to summon on the Set Sail At Dawn summoning banner.

Understanding the Combat Mechanics

The combat system of ARK LEGENDS is quite straightforward to understand with not much deeper mechanics behind it. The game does follow a basic top-down setup for its battles. Before going deeper into combat mechanics, we must understand how players achieve victory in the battles. To put it simply, defeat all enemies while making sure at least 1 of your heroes survives till the end of the battle to emerge as the victor. Players can make the formation of 5 different and unique heroes before starting the battle. The first 3 heroes are placed in the back while the last 2 heroes are placed into the front. A clear image of the number of enemies and their faction is given which is important to take into consideration. ARK LEGENDS makes use of a faction system which is akin to an element system in many similar gacha games. In this system, each faction is weaker and stronger to another faction.

During the battles, your heroes move according to their own whims with the player having limited control over them. Players can only use the ultimate abilities of their heroes when they are available and they have the required amount of mana to use them. Mana is an important currency that is used only in battles. Your team generates mana from hitting enemies or by taking hits from them. Mana is required to activate the ultimate abilities of your heroes. While in some battles, enemies will come in multiple waves, other battles such as those in the Lost Sector will directly take you into a boss fight. Players can choose to specifically target an enemy or let the AI (Artificial Intelligence) do it accordingly.

Tons of quality-of-life features such as 2X Battle Speed and Auto-Battling are also available so that players are not bothered to do the hard work by themselves in case they have a strong formation. An instant loot feature also exists where players can instantly get all the rewards according to the energy spent. This is like a Skip feature. However, it only works on battles that you have won before.

Understanding the Different Currencies

To make the most optimal amount of progression, it’s extremely important to understand the base currencies that are at play as you enter the world of ARK LEGENDS. Making the most judicial out of these currencies will land you the most amount of progress in the least amount of time. To make it simpler, we have already covered the currencies used in summoning-related activities earlier. Similarly, the 3 major currencies used in ARK LEGENDS in almost every area of the game are as follows:

  • Gold
  • Diamond
  • Energy

Gold – Gold is going to be one of your biggest barriers as mid-game approaches as it is extensively used for upgrading your Sigils. Sigils directly affect how strong your heroes stats are. Gold is majorly available through farming the different content available in the game.

Diamond – The gorgeous diamonds sought after by the Empire’s high society. The most premium currency available in ARK LEGENDS, the Diamond has the biggest value in-game. Diamonds can help you purchase Superior Iron Cores that can further help you in summoning stronger heroes that are quite rare. Diamond is majorly available through completing in-game events, completing the main story stages, farming the Lost sector, and through rare compensation by the developers. Diamonds are mainly used for buying Superior Iron Cores but can also be used to refill Energy at the rate of 100 Diamonds per 100 Energy. It can also be used to purchase Gold at the rate of 50 Diamond for 50,000 Gold.

Energy – Energy is also going to be one of the most important currencies that players should be aware as it forces them to play the game only when it is available. It is an AFK resource that recharges even when the player is not actively playing the game. Every content and game mode in ARK LEGENDS requires a specific amount of energy to enter. Players can get tons of energy through different events and mission rewards early on in the game. Energy is also used mainly to make fast progress, especially in your early game days when you have tons of content to explore and farm.
