Arknights is a tower defense strategy game published by Yostar in which you recruit Operators and deploy them across the map to stop waves of enemies. Lappland is a 5-star Lord Guard from Siracusa, available on Global since its January 2020 launch, whose attacks Silence enemies and switch off their special abilities. This guide covers her kit, which skill to master first, what her LOR-X module adds.

Lappland’s Role and Basic Stats

Lappland belongs to the Lord branch of Guards, which can fight in melee and also launch ranged attacks that deal 80% of normal ATK. She strikes blocked enemies in melee and otherwise attacks from range, which lets her hit aerial enemies. Her ranged attack covers a 2×3 area with a one-tile extension in front, which grows to two tiles at Elite 1. She blocks two enemies, attacks every 1.3 seconds, and has a 70-second redeployment time. Her DP cost starts at 17 and rises to 19 after Elite 1. If you want to see how another Guard-type specialist handles her kit and mastery priorities, check out this Arknights Texas (Alter) Operator Guide.

The table below shows her maximum stats at each promotion stage, before Trust and module bonuses. Full Trust adds another 75 ATK.

Promotion Max HP Max ATK Max DEF
Elite 0 1,410 426 238
Elite 1 1,856 554 302
Elite 2 2,350 685 365

Lappland is obtained only through headhunting, not Recruitment. Her Potential ranks lower her DP cost by 1 at Potential 2 and Potential 6, cut her redeployment time by 4 seconds at Potential 3, add 25 ATK at Potential 4, and extend her talent’s Silence by one second at Potential 5.

Talent: Spiritual Destruction

Lappland unlocks Spiritual Destruction at Elite 1. Each of her attacks Silences the target, which disables its special ability. The duration is only 1 second at Elite 1 (2 seconds at Potential 5), but Elite 2 raises it to 5 seconds (6 seconds at Potential 5). The Silence is applied after the attack lands.

The Elite 2 jump is the most important upgrade in her kit. Because Lappland attacks every 1.3 seconds, a 5-second Silence is refreshed long before it runs out, so she can keep a target silenced permanently as long as she keeps attacking it. At Elite 1, the Silence fades between attacks, which leaves gaps for the enemy’s ability to trigger.

Silenced enemies cannot activate their traits, including Refraction on the enemies that have it. However, Silence does not interrupt an ability that is already active, so timing matters. Place her where she reaches dangerous enemies before their ability fires. The talent is especially useful against exploding enemies and enemies with stun attacks.

Skill 1: Sundial

Sundial is a permanent self-buff. It charges through Offensive Recovery, meaning Lappland gains 1 SP each time she attacks. It starts at 0 SP and activates automatically once full, then stays active for the rest of her deployment. At skill level 7, it grants 55% ATK and a 30% chance to dodge Physical attacks, with a 33 SP cost. At Mastery 3, this rises to 70% ATK and a 40% dodge chance, and the cost drops to 30 SP.

The in-game text describes the defensive effect as a chance to resist Physical damage. Sundial may be the better choice on the frontline, where the permanent ATK boost and dodge chance help her hold a lane. Her damage stays Physical with this skill, so it does less against high-DEF enemies than her second skill.

Skill 2: Wolf Spirit

Wolf Spirit unlocks at Elite 1 and is Lappland’s main damage skill. It also uses Offensive Recovery, starts at 0 SP, and activates automatically. While active, it boosts her ATK, turns all of her damage into Arts damage, lets her attack one extra target, and removes the damage penalty on her ranged attacks. At skill level 7, it gives 90% ATK for 17 seconds at a 24 SP cost. At Mastery 3, it gives 120% ATK for 20 seconds and costs only 17 SP.

Arts damage is reduced by an enemy’s RES rather than its DEF, so Wolf Spirit lets her hurt heavily armored targets. Because the ranged penalty is removed, she also loses nothing by attacking from behind a Defender. The drawback is that it activates automatically and needs a full charge of attacks, so its uptime can be uneven before masteries. For more on building a team around burst Arts damage and crowd control, check out this guide on the Best Teams to Maximize Texas (Alter).

Detail Sundial Lv.7 Sundial M3 Wolf Spirit Lv.7 Wolf Spirit M3
ATK bonus +55% +70% +90% +120%

SP cost 33 30 24 17
Duration Unlimited Unlimited 17 seconds 20 seconds

Which Skill to Master First

For most players, Wolf Spirit should be the first skill to master. Since it charges with every attack, each cut in SP cost directly increases how often it is active, and the SP reduction from masteries makes a significant difference to her damage output. Going from 24 SP at level 7 to 17 SP at Mastery 3 means seven fewer attacks per recharge, while the duration grows from 17 to 20 seconds and the ATK bonus from 90% to 120%.

Sundial gains less from mastery in practical terms. It only charges once per deployment, so its SP reduction from 33 to 30 simply shortens the first wait. Its masteries still raise the ATK bonus and dodge chance, so they are worth adding later if you often use her as a melee lane holder. Mastery materials are listed below.

Module: LOR-X “The Young Fang”

Lappland has one module, LOR-X, named “The Young Fang.” It becomes available at Elite 2 Level 50 once you complete two module missions: deal a total of 80,000 damage with your own Lappland, and clear Main Theme stage 4-7 with a 3-star rating while deploying your own Lappland and having her defeat at least 10 Infused Originium Slugs. Unlocking Stage 1 costs 2 Module Data Blocks, 3 Sugar Lumps, and 40,000 LMD.

Stage 1 adds a new trait that makes each attack deal an extra 10% of her ATK as Arts damage, along with bonuses to HP, ATK, and ASPD. Stage 2 is where the module starts improving her talent, since Spiritual Destruction’s Silence lasts 6 seconds and also inflicts 4% Fragile for 6 seconds. Stage 3 raises that Fragile to 8%.

Stage Stat bonuses Effect
Stage 1 HP +110, ATK +20, ASPD +4 Attacks deal an additional 10% ATK as Arts damage
Stage 2 HP +150, ATK +32, ASPD +5 Silence lasts 6 seconds; attacks inflict 4% Fragile for 6 seconds
Stage 3 HP +175, ATK +40, ASPD +6 Silence lasts 6 seconds; attacks inflict 8% Fragile for 6 seconds

Fragile increases the Physical, Arts, and True damage a target takes, so from Stage 2 her talent boosts the whole team’s damage. Stage 2 is the key upgrade point because it adds both the longer Silence and Fragile.

Recommended Build Order

This order gets the most value out of your materials:

  • Promote her to Elite 2 as early as you can, since it turns her Silence from intermittent to permanent.
  • Raise her skills to level 7, then master Wolf Spirit to Mastery 3 before spending anything on Sundial.
  • Unlock LOR-X Stage 1 at Elite 2 Level 50, then upgrade to Stage 2 for the 6-second Silence and Fragile.
  • Run Wolf Spirit when she sits behind a blocker or faces armored enemies, and switch to Sundial when she must block a lane herself against Physical attackers.

Lappland remains dependable because, from Elite 2, she can keep a dangerous enemy silenced for as long as she is hitting it. Prioritize Elite 2, build and master Wolf Spirit for Arts damage against armored enemies, keep Sundial for melee lanes, and unlock LOR-X Stage 2 to gain a longer Silence and team-wide Fragile.
