Grand Theft Auto VI is one of the biggest game releases of 2026, so it is no surprise that players are searching for ways to play GTA VI on Android and other mobile devices. With increasingly powerful smartphones and several older Grand Theft Auto games already available on mobile platforms, the question makes sense.

However, GTA VI is not currently coming to Android. Rockstar Games has confirmed Grand Theft Auto VI for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, with the game scheduled to launch on November 19, 2026. Android and iOS are not among the officially announced platforms.

That does not mean your Android phone is completely out of the picture. There are legitimate ways to use a mobile device to access console games remotely. At the same time, players need to be especially careful with websites advertising GTA VI APK downloads, mobile betas, or unofficial installers.

Will GTA VI Release on Android?

As of September 2026, Rockstar Games has not announced an Android version of GTA VI. The official GTA VI website lists PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S as the supported platforms for the November 19 launch.

Android users should therefore be skeptical of APK files distributed through random websites, social media posts, video descriptions, file-sharing services, or unofficial app stores. Avoid entering your Rockstar, Google, or other account credentials into websites claiming that you need to complete “verification” before downloading GTA VI.

The safest rule is simple: check Rockstar’s official GTA VI website and legitimate platform stores for availability. If Rockstar eventually announces a mobile edition, that announcement should be verifiable through official channels.

How Can You Technically Play GTA VI on Android?

There is an important distinction between running GTA VI on Android and streaming GTA VI to an Android device.

GTA VI does not currently have a native Android version. However, PlayStation lists the PS5 version of Grand Theft Auto VI as supporting Remote Play.

Remote Play allows compatible games running on a PS5 to be streamed to another supported device. In practical terms, the PS5 is still running GTA VI and doing the demanding processing. Your mobile device receives the streamed video and sends your inputs back to the console.

That means Remote Play does not turn GTA VI into an Android game, and it does not involve downloading a GTA VI APK. You still need the required console setup and legitimate access to the game.

This option can nevertheless be useful for players who want to continue playing away from the television. A stable network connection is also important because the quality and responsiveness of remote gameplay depend heavily on the connection between your devices.

GTA VI Supported Platforms and System Requirements

GTA VI currently has a very straightforward platform lineup. Rockstar has announced the game for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. The Xbox store specifically identifies GTA VI as optimized for Xbox Series X|S, while PlayStation lists a PS5 version that is also enhanced for PS5 Pro.

Unlike PC games, console releases do not require players to compare individual CPUs, GPUs, RAM configurations, and operating systems against minimum specifications. If you have a supported console, the hardware configuration is standardized.

For Android and iOS, there are no GTA VI system requirements because Rockstar has not announced native versions for either mobile platform.

There are also no official PC system requirements to provide at this point because a PC edition is not included among the currently confirmed launch platforms. Any website claiming to know definitive GTA VI minimum or recommended PC specifications before Rockstar publishes them should therefore be treated as providing estimates or speculation rather than official requirements.

The same principle applies to older consoles. The currently announced console versions target PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, not PS4 or Xbox One.

Could GTA VI Come to Android in the Future?

It is possible for Rockstar to announce additional platforms at some point, but there is currently no official information confirming a future GTA VI Android release.

Hardware is only part of the question. Bringing a large console game to smartphones also involves optimization, controls, storage, performance targets, device compatibility, and other development considerations. Without an announcement from Rockstar, there is no reliable GTA VI Android release date or set of mobile requirements to report.

For now, Android players interested in GTA VI should treat Remote Play and similar legitimate streaming approaches separately from a native mobile release. If an actual GTA VI Android version is announced later, Rockstar’s official channels will be the place to confirm it.
