Crystal of Atlan features dynamic real-time combat combining flashy skills, weapon switching, and strategic dodging. Players can wield various magical weapons, each with unique abilities and combo potential, allowing for fluid transitions between melee and ranged attacks. Timing and positioning are crucial, especially during boss battles where enemy patterns challenge reflexes and tactics. The combat playstyle also changes depending on which class you have chosen at the start. Do not worry, as this guide will solve all your doubts pertaining to combat related activities. Let’s begin!

How does the Combat System work in Crystal of Atlan?

The combat in Crystal of Atlan revolves around fast-paced explosive combos and lightning-fast movement. It is intended to be both flowing and versatile. Players can perform a number of combos, which varies depending on the Class they are playing as. Crystal of Atlan’s combat is different from other similar games because it introduces action along the Z-axis, allowing for assaults from above enemies, adding depth and excitement to fights. Another thing to note that is that there is little to no skill delay when you combine skills. The damage output is much greater but there are no dull moments.

This type of system rewards players with better reaction time, and allows for higher skill impression for each individual player. If you pick up any mobile class and compare it to a slower class, you will feel the difference in sluggishness of the movement. That’s how accurate the game’s stats systems are. Players can make the combat much more interesting by learning about the different nuances that affect it. We will be explaining more about them in the next section.

Skill Points

Each class in Crystal of Atlan has access to multiple different abilities, also called as “Skills”. These skills can be active or passive in nature. Active skills have a cooldown attached to it, and need to be manually used. They remain active for some duration and fade away. Passive skills have no cooldown attached to them, and remain active throughout the course of the battle. Consider them like built-in buffs to the character. In Crystal of Atlan, players can manage the skills they want to use according to their whims. These skills can be viewed and toggled through the Skills menu.

As you level up, you’ll gain skill points, which you can use to upgrade existing skills. Some skills and higher levels of abilities will have a minimum level requirement, so you’ll have to keep progressing through the game! To unlock an ability, click on it and then choose Upgrade. A little number will appear in the lower right corner of the Upgrade button, indicating how many Skill Points are required to unlock or upgrade the skill. Your current available skill points are displayed at the top of the screen.

Use the Dual-Skill Wheel to your Advantage

The Dual Skill wheel system has been one of the most hyped features of Crystal of Atlan. Normally, each character can have 4 skills at a time, and 1 finisher skill. But, with the dual skill setup, players actually have access to 8 different skills at a time. This system acts in a layer system, wherein the 1st layer has 4 skills, and the 2nd layer has 4 more skills. Each layer is denoted by a “row”.

The Configuration tab of the Skills menu displays two rows of four skill slots. The first row displays the abilities that are active when you start combat. When you use a skill, the skill in the second row becomes accessible via the same hotkey. The skill in the first row will always take precedence, thus if you wait too long and the first skill comes off cooldown, the button will return to the first skill. The same goes with the finisher button. You can also have a 2nd finisher skill setup for more combat impact. These extra ability and finisher slots unlock at the following levels:

  • Level 10 – 1st extra slot
  • Level 20 – 2nd extra slot
  • Level 25 – 3rd extra slot
  • Level 30 – 4th extra slot
  • Awakened level 45 – Extra finisher slot

Execute Powerful Combos to Deal more Damage

Combos are a series of attacks against your enemies. The amount of chained hits increases the combo’s effectiveness. To keep your streak going, try weaving basic attacks between your talents whenever feasible to avoid downtime. Combos can help you control the battlefield by knocking your opponents into the air and then holding them there with repeated, quick attacks.

Alternatively, you can use combinations to jump into the air and attack from above. Maintaining fast assaults will keep you suspended in the air, allowing you to evade enemy attacks on the ground.

Resonance and Extreme Dodge

Everything about the combat system would be incomplete if we didn’t mention the Resonance mechanic. This function glows when the resonance meter is full, allowing you to unleash your true powers. Resonance period grants your character more damage and power, allowing you to smash through enemies easily.

Although this meter fills normally as you fight, you can increase the speed of it by maximizing using Extreme Dodge. Consider it like a reward for your reflexes. If you use Extreme Dodge at the last moment before the enemy strikes you, it will fill up your resonance meter faster. If you do during the resonance state, the duration of the state is extended by 2 seconds more.

Players can enjoy playing Crystal of Atlan on a bigger screen of their PC or Laptop via BlueStacks along with your keyboard and mouse.
