Guild Wars Reforged Boost Your Adventure with These Tips & Tricks

Guild Wars Reforged was released over 20 years ago, yet it remains one of the most popular MMORPGs. Now, mobile gamers can also become part of this massive adventure and enjoy content that will keep them entertained for months. In the guide we prepared for newcomers, (link to Beginner) we shared the basics to help you get started as quickly and smoothly as possible. This time, we want to share some tips to help you progress more efficiently and fully enjoy everything the game has to offer. Let’s get started!
| IMPORTANT | At the time this guide was written, the game was still in the testing phase, and some content may change by the time it is released. We don’t expect this to happen, but if it does, we will update the guide accordingly. |
Sometimes Henchmen Are Better
In the beginner’s guide, we mentioned that a team of heroes is better than one made up of henchmen, but there is an exception to this rule. Heroes need a certain set of skills and experience to be useful, and you’ll need some money to purchase them. So, if you assemble a team made entirely of heroes right at the start, you won’t have access to any skills at all. For this reason, don’t hesitate to build a team consisting solely of henchmen until you reach at least level 10.

Always Start with a Longbow
Longbows aren’t exclusive to rangers; any class can use them. Of course, you need to be a ranger to get the most out of them, but that doesn’t mean you can’t use longbows at the very least in the beginning. Make sure every member of your team (regardless of class) has a longbow.
Start every battle with this longbow: since it’s the weapon with the longest range in the game, you can deal quite satisfying damage until enemies get close to you. Once close combat begins, switch to your class-specific weapon. This simple trick will significantly reduce the time you spend per battle.
Upgrade Not Just Your Skills, But Your Armor Too
At most outposts in the game, you’ll find a special NPC called an Armorer. Use them to upgrade your base armor: the cap is set at 80 (though it may be lower for certain classes). The higher your armor rating, the less damage you’ll take. If you max out your armor rating, you can reduce the damage you take by up to 50%, which makes most battles in the game much easier.

Pay Attention to Synergy When Building Your Team
Don’t expect a single hero to handle everything exactly as you’ve planned. The Guild Wars Reforged hero AI isn’t very good at this; which is perfectly normal for a 20-year-old game. So, for example, if you expect your Elementalist character to first slow down the enemy, then use an AoE attack, and switch to single-target attacks as the number of enemies decreases, things will likely not go as planned. The Elementalist will use their skills in a nearly random order.
Instead, configure your other team members to follow a specific skill sequence based on their roles. For example, your fighter heroes should focus primarily on slow skills and do their best to delay enemies from closing in on your ranged heroes. Ranged characters should prioritize AoE attacks. You can use melee DPS characters for single-target damage.

So, instead of expecting a single hero to do all of this in a specific order, have each hero focus on a specific objective and use their skills solely for that purpose. Once you can do this, battles will start to go much more smoothly.
Click on the Big Green Icons
When you start a quest and see an NPC with a large green icon in front of you, don’t start the quest without clicking on them first. This means interacting with that NPC is mandatory both to start and to progress the quest. If you start without doing this, you’ll find that no matter how much time you spend trying, the quest simply won’t progress. If there’s an NPC you can interact with in any quest area, don’t start anything without clicking on them first.

Focus on the Right Enemies
When fighting a large group of enemies, there are two enemy types you should focus on: healers and ranged attackers. Healers should be your first and top priority, eliminate them first. Then focus on the ranged attackers. Never waste time on melee enemies. After a while, you’ll learn to identify enemy types at a glance. In any case, don’t waste time attacking melee enemies until all ranged attackers have been eliminated.

Contrary to popular belief, Guild Wars Reforged isn’t a game that requires you to grind. If you think you need to level up and want to do so quickly, focus on secondary quests instead of grinding: you’ll find dozens of them in every town and outpost. As you progress through the game, you’ll see that each mechanic is designed to complement the others, and with these tips, you’ll be able to do so much more efficiently. Lastly and as always, we recommend playing Guild Wars Reforged on your PC with BlueStacks for a more enjoyable and seamless experience!
