RAID: Shadow Legends is a game with dozens of heroes you can add to your team, and there are countless builds you can create with these heroes. Each one can contribute differently to your team and enhance a different aspect of it: the primary objective in this mobile RPG should always be to build a team of heroes that support each other through synergy. However, some of these heroes are rarer, stronger, and more useful than others: we refer to them as the “meta.”

We’ve created this guide to help you quickly review the current meta in RAID: Shadow Legends. First, we’ll discuss the key things you need to know and pay attention to, then we’ll share a list of heroes considered meta as of August 2025. After reviewing this list, we strongly recommend using the latest game codes to claim your free rewards.

However, before we begin, an important reminder: every meta changes. Each update may introduce new heroes, alter the stats of existing heroes, or even modify the game’s core mechanics. Therefore, no meta is permanent. Additionally, meta lists are not the same for everyone.

When compiling our list, we took into account the opinions of the gaming community, information shared on platforms such as Reddit, and our own experiences. Your meta may include different heroes, and that’s completely normal: RAID: Shadow Legends is a mobile RPG that features different game modes and caters to various playstyles, so it’s not surprising that everyone has a different list. Therefore, we recommend using our list not as an “absolute necessity” but as a source of inspiration.

What You Need to Know Before Diving Into the RAID: Shadow Legends Meta

These general tips will help you build a solid foundation in the game, even if the meta changes. So, if you keep them in mind when building your team, you’ll have heroes that stay strong and can take on any opponent, no matter what the meta is.

  • Remember that champion types are important for damage. This is the most common mistake made during the gearing process. Make sure to give Attack champions gear that increases their ATK, and Defense champions gear that increases their DEF. For Support champions, you should primarily aim for ATK, but some may also require DEF or HP gear. By reviewing your champions’ abilities, you can determine what type of gear they need.

  • Regardless of type, Speed (SPD) is one of the most important stats for every champion, and in most cases, it is the most important. Ideally, you should reach 200 SPD, because when you do, you will attack more than your enemy. This is important not only for PvE but also for PvP. Remember that the Boots is the most important gear for increasing SPD, as Speed is only added as the main stat to this gear.
  • Don’t try to chase the meta before your main champion reaches level 60; it will be pointless. Your primary goal when playing RAID: Shadow Legends should be to reach level 60. You can start paying attention to the meta once the other heroes in your team reach at least level 50. If you try to follow the meta before that, you will waste time and resources.
  • Remember that the stat priority is SPD – CRIT RATE – CRIT DMG. Crit rate should never drop below 100%. CRIT DMG should be as high as possible.

  • The best thing you can do for team synergy is to develop and support the main champion (starter hero) you start the game with. Therefore, your team should always have the starter hero equipped with the best gear, and other heroes should be selected to support it. The specific heroes required will vary depending on the meta, but generally, you will always need a buffer hero (e.g., Warpriest), a debuffer hero (e.g., Warmaiden), and a nuker hero. The nuker role should not have a fixed place in your team: depending on the battle scenario, you may need to replace it with a CC, a reviver, or a poisoner.

With this information in mind, and without forgetting the disclaimer we shared at the beginning, we can now take a closer look at the top five heroes in the current RAID: Shadow Legends meta.

1. Teodor the Savant

Teodor’s best feature is that he is currently the best poisoner in the game. He can also apply the HP Burn debuff to enemies. These two abilities make him extremely useful for clearing end game content. Another advantage is that he can grant a buff that increases allies’ speed. This makes him one of the best characters to add to your team for quickly clearing bosses, but he should only be used in PvE scenarios: he is virtually useless in PvP. Prioritize the following stats for this hero: ACC, SPD, HP, DEF, CRIT RATE.

FACTION Knights Revenant RARITY Legendary
ROLE Support AFFINITY Spirit

2. Warlord

Warlord has a feature that will be very useful in both PvE and PvP scenarios: it can lock enemies’ skills at maximum cooldown and reduce allies’ turn meters with a 70% probability. Since it can also apply a block debuff to enemies, it enables everyone to deal more damage when attacking. This is not a new hero, but it is clearly a timeless hero that will find its place in every meta. You can place it as a debuffer in any team. Prioritize the following stats for this hero: ACC, SPD, HP, CRIT CRATE, CRIT DMG, DEF.

FACTION Orcs RARITY Legendary
ROLE Support AFFINITY Void

3. Acrizia

Acrizia may be the best hero for dealing heavy and fast damage to enemies with high HP. If the target’s HP is more than half of her own HP, she has a passive that increases her damage with multipliers, and even if this is not the case, she can still deal quite a lot of damage. Additionally, she can reduce enemies’ defense and steal 100% of their turn meters. She also has a passive ability that reduces AoE damage by 50%, making her usable in all battle scenarios (PvE & PvP). Prioritize the following stats for this hero: CRIT RATE, CRIT DMG, ACC, SPD.

FACTION Dwarves RARITY Legendary
ROLE Attack AFFINITY Void

4. Lydia the Deathsiren

To add Lydia to your team, you need to complete Faction Wars on Normal difficulty, but rest assured that it will be worth the effort. This hero has many buffs that increase damage and speed, as well as skills that allow her to control enemies. She has been in the game for over 5 years, but she is still one of the best choices for any team. Additionally, since she cannot be obtained through shards and is only available through Faction Wars achievement, she can also be a source of pride. Prioritize the following stats for this hero: ACC, SPD, DEF, CRIT RATE, CRIT DMG.

FACTION Dark Elves RARITY Legendary
ROLE Support AFFINITY Void

5. Krisk the Ageless

Krisk is a hero created to be a tank, as he has the highest base DEF stats in the game. He even broke a world record by dealing 150 million damage to a Clan Boss in a single hit. If you pair him with heroes that boost his speed, you can use him in any battle scenario and obtain a tank capable of dealing heavy damage. This is the best tank you can add to your team in the end-game phase. Prioritize the following stats for this hero: ACC, SPD, DEF, CRIT RATE, HP.

FACTION Lizardmen RARITY Legendary
ROLE Defense AFFINITY Void

Use this list as inspiration when selecting heroes to add to your team, and as always, play RAID: Shadow Legends on PC with BlueStacks for maximum performance and a much more enjoyable experience!
