Anime Vanguards is a Roblox tower defense game from Kitawari in which you summon anime-inspired units and place them along the track to stop waves of enemies. The in-game Codex now lists 252 units, including 21 added between Update 13.5 and Update 14.5. This tier list picks 23 of the strongest units you can still obtain from across the whole roster, old and new.

How This Tier List Was Built

The official wiki tier list rates units in four role groups and names the eight strongest overall. Here, obtainable units from the official top eight form S+, units with an S+ or S rating in any role form S, and the A, B, and C tiers follow each unit’s best rating. The four role groups are:

• DPS: units built around efficient, sustained damage output.
• Utility: specialists that shine in particular situations, including dedicated boss killers.
• Support: units that lift the whole team with large buffs.
• Crowd Control: units that slow, stun, or push enemies back along the track.

Units tagged as unobtainable or no longer obtainable in the in-game Codex are left out, even when the wiki ranks them highly.

Anime Vanguards Tier List Overview (Update 14.5)

S+ Tier Units

These six units come from the official top eight for Update 14.5. The other two, Rogita (Super 4) and Divalo (Requiem), are marked no longer obtainable in the Codex.

Apathetic Savior (Door)

Apathetic Savior (Door) is a Secret Fire unit that leads the official ranking with S+ marks in Utility, Support, and Crowd Control. He raises the crit rate of Demon Controller allies by 80%, and every active used by him or those allies adds a stack, up to eight, worth 10% team damage. He drops from Lunar Bridge Floor 11 at 10%, guaranteed by the 10th clear.

Holy Deceiver (Dark)

Holy Deceiver (Dark) is an Exclusive Holy unit from Tier 50 of the Update 14.5 Part 3 Event Pass. He raises Holy damage by 80%, slows enemies by 50% on hit, and grants Dragon Sphere allies Overcrit and stacking damage.

Super Vogito

Super Vogito is a Secret Holy unit that tops the official DPS group, and Beebom’s September 2026 update also names him the best damage dealer in Update 14.5. You get him by tagging out Roku (Super 3) 13 times and fusing with Vogita (Angel). He ignores enemy dodge and half of their damage reduction, inflicts Rupture, and counters enemies that attack him.

The Falcon (of Light)

The Falcon (of Light) is a Secret Cosmic unit rated S+ in Utility and Support. He buffs allies in range by 40% damage, lowers enemy damage reduction by 20%, and his attacks Repulse enemies. The catch is his Brand mechanic, which gives branded allied towers a 20% damage penalty, so team planning matters.

Wrath (Assault)

Wrath (Assault) is an Exclusive Curse unit and the Battle Pass reward of the Wrathful Assault update (14.5 Part 4). He buffs Curse damage by 50% and Evils category units by 80%, strips shields on attack, and is free to place once another Evils unit is down. His The Power of Friends active quadruples the next damaging active from an Evils ally.

Rebel Fighter (Gauntlet)

Rebel Fighter (Gauntlet) is a Secret Nature unit and the Floor 50 reward in Worlds Collide, so you can earn him without summoning. He builds Mana with attacks and spends it on four spells that burn, freeze, stun, or repulse every enemy in range, while combo strings stack extra damage. After 10 abilities, his next one deals 300% more damage.

S Tier Units

S tier units hold an S+ or S rating in at least one official role group but sit outside the top eight.

Elastic Captain (Cog 5th)

Elastic Captain (Cog 5th) is a Holy and Water Vanguard unit rated S+ in Crowd Control, evolved from Elastic Captain, a Mythic from the Selection and Special banners. His attacks Repulse enemies and he buffs Pirate allies by 50%. Repulsed enemies become Wanted, dropping 40% more Yen and taking 40% more damage from Pirates.

The Smith (Forged)

The Smith (Forged) is evolved from The Smith, a Mythic Fire unit from the Selection and Special banners, and is rated S+ in Support. He earns ore from takedowns and crafts weapons for any ally, with a free masterwork item for every three Silver weapons. The wiki pairs him with The Falcon (of Light).

Savior (Moonless)

Savior (Moonless) is a Vanguard Cosmic unit rated S in Utility, evolved from Ichiga (Savior) through the Spirit Mask quest. He counts as every unit category, so any group buff can reach him. His Moonless Sky active sacrifices life stocks for 1000% damage each, after which he becomes Savior (Rebirth), a strong staller with lower damage.

A Tier Units

A tier units are strong role players that need the right partners or modes to shine.

The Struggler (Rampage)

The Struggler (Rampage) is a Secret Unbound unit rated A in DPS, evolved from The Struggler, a Mythic summon. His stuns apply Bleed, and hits on Bleeding enemies trigger follow-ups that Repulse them. Berserker Armor lets him attack nonstop with status immunity, but each attack adds an Injury stack that stuns him once the armor ends.

History’s Strongest

History’s Strongest is a Curse and Cosmic Vanguard unit rated A in DPS. He is one outcome of Today’s Strongest vs History’s Strongest, trading crowd control for damage over time. His Dismantle effect lets his Burn bypass shields and damage reduction. He is limited, and the Codex lists no current way to get him.

Divine General (Adaptation)

Divine General (Adaptation) is a Secret Holy unit rated A in Utility that drops from the Divine General’s Realm Rift at 2%. After four hits on an enemy, he adapts to its mechanics and ignores them, gaining 20% damage per immunity. His attacks inflict Nullify, and he teleports to the leading enemy if it goes 10 seconds untouched.

Dawntay (Jackpot)

Dawntay (Jackpot) is an Exclusive Unbound unit rated A in Utility, and the wiki lists him in the Exclusive Shop again since June 22, 2026. He gains 25% crit rate, and if his first hit crits, he chains into follow-up attacks while the hits keep critting. A full DT gauge transforms him for 30 seconds with 100% more damage.

Boohon (Evil)

Boohon (Evil) is a Secret Cosmic unit and the top A tier pick in Support. His attacks turn enemies into candy that is slowed by 50% and takes 30% more damage from Dragon Sphere allies. Buffs he applies to one Dragon Sphere unit spread to the rest, which makes him a natural partner for Holy Deceiver and Super Vogito.

B Tier Units

B tier units are solid in the right setup.

Investigation Leader (Truth)

Investigation Leader (Truth) is a Mythic Spark unit rated B in DPS. His base form drops from Lunar Bridge Floor 1 at 20%, guaranteed by the 7th clear. With the Trenchcoat Demon Familiar, he gains 100% damage, and his Myriad Truths active deals 2000% damage to every enemy in range once per match.

Phantom Thief (Jester)

Phantom Thief (Jester) is a Secret Curse unit rated B in DPS, evolved from Phantom Thief, a 10% drop from Lunar Bridge Floor 9. His crits make Demon Controller allies follow up for 30% of their damage. His All-Out Attack active deals 300% of the combined damage of every placed Demon Controller unit.

Cursed Copycat (Pure)

Cursed Copycat (Pure) is a Secret Passion unit rated B in DPS, earned by defeating the Cursed Copycat boss on wave 30 while holding Pure Love’s Ring. His Copycat active lets him reuse attacks he has copied, and the wiki notes he relies heavily on good team building and a strong copied attack.

C Tier Units

C tier units are niche or budget picks for specific teams.

Brisket (Yo-Yo)

Brisket (Yo-Yo) is a Mythic Spark unit rated C in DPS, evolved from Brisket on the Special Banner. Each attack leaves a yo-yo behind, and his follow-up active spends half a meter bar to strike for 200% damage and jump to a placed yo-yo. The wiki ranks him best alongside Tempest Pirate.

Alocard (Vampire King)

Alocard (Vampire King) is a Vanguard Unbound unit still on the Special Banner at 0.004% with a 25,000-summon pity. His attacks inflict Bleed, and Bleeding enemies entering his range become Wounded and take 20% more damage. He is rated C in Crowd Control, but the wiki notes he performs well in most modes and climbs higher with the right synergies.

Reckless Gambler (Cursed)

Reckless Gambler (Cursed) is a Secret Passion unit rated C in Utility that drops from the Sorcerer Battlefield Raid at 5%. He draws cards on every attack, and matching hands grant damage, stuns, slows, or crit bonuses. His Death Gamble active can hit a jackpot that maxes his stacks and grants status immunity for 41 seconds.

Cursed Lawyer (Tired)

Cursed Lawyer (Tired) is a Mythic Passion unit rated C in Support, available from the Sorcerer Battlefield Raid or its shop for 1,000 Gambler’s Tokens. His Honest effect cuts upgrade costs by 10% and boosting crit rate. His Executioner active executes non-boss enemies below 20% health for 60 seconds.

Team Synergies Worth Building Around

The wiki’s notes point to four clear team cores worth building around:

• Dragon Sphere core: Holy Deceiver (Dark), Super Vogito, and Boohon (Evil), which the wiki calls the highest-DPS team in the game.
• Evils core: Wrath (Assault) with Iscanur (Pride), his listed partner, plus other Evils category units.
• Demon Controller core: Apathetic Savior (Door) with Investigation Leader (Truth) and Phantom Thief (Jester).
• Falcon core: The Falcon (of Light) with The Smith (Forged) and The Struggler (Rampage).

Update 14.5 pushed a new wave of units to the top of Anime Vanguards, but older picks like Alocard (Vampire King) and Elastic Captain (Cog 5th) still hold their place. If you are building from scratch, Rebel Fighter (Gauntlet) and Apathetic Savior (Door) can be earned without summoning, so build around one core team.
