How to Push and Trips Other Players
When it comes to earning victories in Stumble Guys, it’s often not enough to try and reach the finish line before anyone else does so, but you might need to actually make others lose. One good way to do this is by making them trip, fall, and lose progress, so that you can run ahead and win the races.
Now, while the original Fall Guys had a way to actually disrupt other players’ movements, in the form of a grab function that makes your characters briefly cling to others and stop their momentum in their tracks, Stumble Guys has no such function. However, what Stumble Guys does have are two specific emotes that, when used correctly, can essentially act as a punch and slide action, which can knock and trip others over if aimed right.
The emotes that we’re talking about are the glove emote, which essentially launches a punch straight ahead in the direction that you’re facing, and the shoe emote, which makes your character slide a few feet in the direction they’re facing. Both of these emotes have limited use, in the sense that they’re very difficult to aim and actually hit other players. However, when done correctly, you can use these to knock down your enemies and make them lose progress, especially if you hit them near ledges and make them fall to the void.
Regrettably, these emotes are not available from the start. Instead, you must play the game and progressively unlock them. For example, the shoe emote is the very last reward for maxing out the current season of the Premium Stumble Pass, which might require a small investment to get into. Nevertheless, once you actually unlock these emotes, you can put them to good use in the ways we explained above.
How to Get Speed Boosts in Some Obstacle Courses
If you’ve been playing this game for a while, you might have probably noticed that the speed of all players is normalized—everyone runs at the same speed, and there are no ways to actually increase the said speed, in order to ensure fair play. However, while everyone does run at the same speed, there are a few ways to actually get a few speed boosts in certain stages, in order to take the upper hand and win your races.
While there are a few obvious speed boosts such as the one in Super Slide, or the moving floors in obstacle courses like Spin Go-Round, there is also another way to actually get an unintended speed boost in certain stages.
For instance, in stages where there are bumpers, the objects to bounce you in the opposite direction whenever you crash into them, you can angle yourself correctly and intentionally bump yourself in order to get launched ahead. Similarly, in stages where there are spinning obstacles like in Cannon Climb, you can run slightly past the rotating hammers, and stand just past it in a way that the hammers hit you from behind and send you flying forward at blinding speed.
While obstacles like these are meant to hinder your progress and make you lose, if you use them correctly, you can definitely get the upper hand in a way others players might not expect. As such, always keep an eye out for openings and opportunities to get ahead whenever possible.
Keep an Eye Out For Shortcuts
While the stages and obstacle courses in Stumble Guys are pretty much straightforward, with mostly no branching paths, there are some that have a few unintended shortcuts. For example, did you know that the very last middle cannon in Cannon Climb has no collision physics and you can actually clip through it? This is a great way to cut a few seconds of the final stretch by jumping straight towards the goal, instead of having to circle around by using the side ramps. Similarly, in Super Slide, you don’t necessarily have to travel through the entire length of the slide; you can jump out of the slide in the tightest turns, and land on the next segment, effectively skipping the turn and maintaining most of your velocity.
Shortcuts like these can give you the extra push you might need to win in most of your races. And while these are only the two shortcuts that we know about, there might be more strewn about the different levels, so keep an eye out!
