The latest MMORPG from PIXEL RABBIT Games, Tales Noir, features an engaging storyline. Players will be able to experience a fictional story based on the popular fantasy characters of our childhood like Snow White, Cinderella, Beauty and the Beast, Little Red Riding Hood, and much more. The game boasts over 100 collectible partners, all of which are obtainable through the gacha system or certain events in-game. Tales Noir is available to be downloaded as a free-to-play title for both the Google Play Store and iOS App Store. 

Tales Noir starts right with an option to choose your base class which cannot be changed later in the gameplay progression, so choose carefully. The game presents players with 5 different classes as their first choice with each class being reminiscent of classic roles in MMORPG titles. Players can refer to our thorough Class Guide for Tales Noir to get a better understanding o of each class and their playstyle. The 5 classes are as follows:

• Sorcerer Class
• Hunter Class
• Assassin Class
• Knight Class
• Musician Class

Tales Noir, offers its own unique twist and turns to the already grindy MMORPG genre by further combining it with city-building aspects like building your Castle. In the Castle, players will be able to interact with their collected partners, build different buildings which increase resources, as well as simply take a rest to refresh vitals like HP and Mana. Like classic town-building aspects, the higher the level of the buildings, the more time it takes for them to be built. Tales Noir also supports a skill-based combat system with fluid animations for all of its class abilities that are pleasant to watch. The overall combat itself is quite easy in the beginning due to the low HP of enemies and a wide stock of HP potions in your backpack. However, the game starts picking up the pace of difficulty as your progress farther into the storyline which the veterans of the genre will find pleasing as they will be required to hone their skills and perform skill-chain combos to defeat enemies. 

Partners are the collectible characters in Tales Noir that help the players in their gruesome battles against mobs of enemies by attacking them or healing the player. Each Partner is divided into different rarities and is further classified according to their role in the game. They are obtained through the gacha system called Destiny which offers 3 different rarities of Partners:

• Rare Partner – 90% probability of being summoned
• Epic Partner – 9% probability of being summoned
• Legendary Partner – 1% probability of being summoned

Do not worry if you are unable to get a legendary partner as the game does offer a pity system that features a soft pity as well as hard pity. The soft pity for the gacha system exists at 10 summons where an Epic Partner is guaranteed in every x10 summons the player performs. The summons needs to be performed in a single go and not consecutively. The hard pity exists at 100 summons, after which the players can choose their desired legendary partner from a select list in the redeem shop.

In this tier list for Tales Noir, we will be listing the best Partners to use in battles, regardless of the type of content (PvE or PvP). Keep in mind that this tier list is according to our observations and players can experiment with partners they like to come to their own conclusion. The game is still fairly new, hence, a lot of room for improvement is reserved. 

S Tier Partners

Let’s take a look at the Partners listed in this tier: –

Mermaid Princess (Carol)

Mermaid Princess is an SSR grade Partner that is classified as a Healer in-game. Mermaid Princess has a unique trait where she has 2 passive abilities and only 1 active ability. Her 1st passive ability Impede states that her waves of water slow enemies by 45% for 3 seconds per enemy hit. Her 2nd passive ability Surf states that allies who pass through the water waves summoned by her get a 30% increased movement speed for 3 seconds per ally. Her awakened skill Rising Wave states Mermaid Princess summons waves of water which rush in a single direction and deal AOE damage to all enemies. The waves will heal all allies inside the waves. She deals magical damage to enemies who are hit by the waves and the waves continue to deal damage even if she dies.  

Mad Hatter (Rand)

Mad Hatter is an SSR grade Partner that is classified as a Warrior in-game. Mad Hatter’s awakened ability Mad Hatter Magic is an AOE targeted damaging ability that deals damage to all enemies in a particular area on the ground. He further decreases the awakened cooldowns of all allied partners by 3 seconds. His 1st passive ability Mad Card states that when Mad Hatter is awakened, the player will gain 0.5 rage per active skill used by him. His 2nd passive ability Card Blossom state that when Mad Hatter is awakened, his normal attacks grant him an extra 0.75 rage per attack which lets him cycle his awakened state a lot faster. 

Castle Beauty (Betty)

Castle Beauty is an SSR grade Partner that is classified as a Healer in-game. Castle Beauty’s Awakened ability Power of Nature is an AOE healing skill that heals all allies and the healing amount is directly proportional to her magical attack. Further, she will sow seeds of nature around the player’s location which further keeps healing him. Her 2nd active ability Divine Blessing states that all allies will recover HP equal to 145% of her magical attack + 280 HP. Her 1st passive ability Durability states that allies within the range of Castle Beauty will gain 10% increased defense.

Beast Prince (Mars)

Beast Prince is an SSR grade Partner that is classified as an Assassin in-game. Beast Prince is a physical damage dealer that deals with physical attacks and scales with the same. His awakened ability Brutal Fury is a single directional AOE damaging ability that targets all enemies in a particular direction, stunning each enemy for 2.5 seconds. In the end, he performs an AOE damaging roar that deals physical damage to nearby enemies in a circular area on the ground. His 1st active ability Brutal Strike is a single targeted damaging ability that has a unique quirk which states that Beast Prince reduces the cooldown of this ability by 1 second per active skill used. His 2nd active ability Brutal Trample is also an AOE damaging skill that deals damage to all enemies in a particular area and increases the critical hit rate of himself and the player by 5% each for a duration of 5 seconds.

Long-Haired Princess (Penny)

Long-Haired Princess is an SSR grade Partner that is classified as a Tank in-game. Her awakened ability Hair Ward is a crowd controlling/damaging ability that pulls in nearby enemies within a range of 4 meters of the player towards herself and taunts them for 4 seconds. She also provides a Shield equal to 5% of her MAX HP to the player for 5 seconds as well as deals magical damage to enemies she pulled. Long-Haired Princesses 1st passive ability Durable Hair states that when her HP falls below 25% of her MAX HP, she takes 450% reduced incoming damage from all areas. Her 2nd passive ability Hair Entangle states that while she is in her awakened state, 30% of the damage taken by her is redistributed among the enemies near her and further stunning them for 2 seconds as well.

Sleeping Beauty (Lilian)

Sleeping Beauty is an SSR grade Partner that is classified as a Warrior in-game. Her awakened skill Dream Projection is an AOE targeted damaging ability that deals magical damage to all enemies in a particular area on the ground. Her 1st passive ability Roll Over states that the first cast of her awakened skill Dream Projection inflicts a Doze Off debuff on enemies for 8 seconds, where they get slowed gradually starting from 5% to 70%. At the end of the Doze Off debuff, she places a Hypnotize debuff for 3 seconds on all enemies which causes them to sleep. The first attack which hits them will deal 50% increased damage but wakes them up. Her 2nd passive ability Hypersomnia states that enemies under Doze Off debuff will take increased damage over time as well, starting from 1% to 20%.

Wonderland Princess (Alice)

Wonderland Princess is an SSR grade Partner that is classified as an Assassin in-game. Wonderland Princesses awakened ability Unsheathe is an AOE targeted damaging skill that deals physical damage to all enemies in a particular area on the ground. She also increases her and the player’s Attack by 10% for 7 seconds. Her 1st active ability Never Disappoint is an AOE damaging skill that deals physical damage to all enemies in a single direction. Her 2nd active ability Illusory Sword is an AOE targeted damaging ability which deals 180% physical attack damage to enemies in a targeted area on the ground.

Prince Charming (David)

Prince Charming is an SSR grade Partner that is classified as a Tank in-game. His awakened ability Adjudication of Light makes use of his dual swords to deal damage to enemies. Firstly, he uses the King’s Sword to deal AOE damage to all enemies trapped in a particular area on the ground. Secondly, he uses the Sword of Responsibilities to also deal AOE targeted damage to all enemies in the area, dealing physical damage equal to 230% of his physical attack. When in the awakened state, he will absorb 5% of the damage dealt with by the player. His 1st active ability Blade Sweep is a curved damaging skill that deals damage near his surroundings, dealing physical damage equal to 220% of his physical attack. This skill also increases his and the player’s Defense by 5%. His 2nd active ability Royal Charge is a single directional damaging skill that deals physical damage to enemies in a particular direction and grants a Shield equal to 5% of his MAX HP to himself and the player.

Little Red Riding Hood (Lucy)

Little Red Riding Hood is an SSR grade Partner that is classified as an Assassin in-game. Her awakened ability Dual Personalities states that she pulls in an enemy and deals 510% of Physical attack worth damage to him. The second part of this skill states that she performs an AOE targeted damaging move that deals damage to all enemies in a particular area on the ground. 50% of the damage dealt by Little Red Riding Hood during her awakened state is returned to the player as HP. Her 1st active ability Mediation is also an AOE targeted damaging skill that deals physical damage to her surroundings. Her passive ability Painful Memory states that Little Red Riding Hood inflicts a Pain debuff on enemies with her abilities that deal continuous damage to the target for 5 seconds.

Little Glass Slipper (Cinderella)

Little Glass Slipper is an SSR grade Partner that is classified as an Assassin in-game. Her awakened skill Silencing Potion is an AOE targeted damaging ability where she throws a poisonous potion on a selected area on the ground that deals magical damage to all enemies caught. When enemies exit the area, they will further take more magical damage. Enemies trapped in the area are also silenced for 3 seconds. Her 1st active ability Saddening Potion is an AOE targeted damaging skill that throws a potion to a selected area and the enemies hit are inflicted by Saddened debuff. Saddened debuff deals magical continuous damage for 3 seconds. Her 2nd active ability Splashing Potion is also an AOE damaging skill that deals 360% magical damage to the enemies hit. 

Snow White (Margaret)

Snow White is an SSR-grade Partner that is classified as an Assassin in-game. Snow White’s awakened ability Princess Raid is an AOE targeted damaging skill that deals physical damage equal to 524% of physical attack to the enemies. If she eats during this period, she has a 50% chance to gain a Satisfaction buff which increases her damage output by 30%. Once her awakened state ends, she deals physical damage to all enemies in her surroundings. Her 1st active skill Lock on Target is a single targeted damaging skill that deals 230% physical attack worth of damage to the enemy. Her 1st passive ability Satiety states that damage increases by 10% in the Satisfaction state.

Match Girl (Doris)

Match Girl is an SSR grade Partner that is classified as an Assassin in-game. Match Girl’s awakened skill Wish is an AOE targeted damaging skill that deals 510% of Magical Attacks worth damage over time to enemies in a particular area on the ground. After her awakened state ends, she uses Red Ballet to blink to a target location and deals Magical damage to nearby enemies. Her active ability Swirling Sparks is a double-hitting AOE targeted damaging skill that deals magical damage to enemies in a particular area on the ground. Her passive ability Fiery Eyes states that Red Ballet pulls enemies near 3.5m of Match Girl towards herself and deals 2.5% increased damage to enemies.
