The Legend of Neverland, the brand-new open-world MMORPG (Massively Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Game) has launched for the global regions as a free-to-play title on both the Google Play Store and Apple App Store. The GameArk Global developed and published game is classified as an MMORPG where players will travel in a fantasy land called Neverland after humanity has fallen and is limited to a certain land due to the evil forces rampaging on the Earth. The game has all the classic elements reminiscent of a classic MMORPG – 4 different and unique classes to choose from and play with and a vast immersive land to explore and interact with. 

The Legend of Neverland’s story is influenced by the concept of mythical creatures and the classic Good V/S Evil narrative seen in similar games. The Earth and the humans inhabiting it are in danger due to the chaotic forces that are forcing their regime of terror. Players will role-play as a Protector that has lost his/her powers after facing the leader of the chaos forces. The game takes place in the fictional land of Cabala and its kingdom which has been completely taken over by the bringers of evil. The description of the Cabala Kingdom given by the main NPC partner of our journey Iris, is as follows – “What is Cabala? Let me think about it… Haven’t you already been there? Yes, Cabala was once a paradise for the ancestors. But now, it’s only a living hell! As far as I can remember, it is a forbidden place for human beings. Some adventurers secretly entered Cabala, but I heard that none of them has come back alive…”

The Legend of Neverland is a unique MMORPG where players are not locked towards a particular class but instead can choose to explore 3 different classes at a time. This happens because of the switch system and the weapon system that is available in The Legend of Neverland where players’ current class depends on the weapon they are currently using. There exist 4 different and unique classes with each class offering a different play style and new game mechanics. The classes are as follows:

• Ranger Class 

• Swordsman Class

• Scholar Class

• Craftsman Class

All of the classes possess some unique and interesting active skills and passive skills. Players can make use of different classes and form a balanced composition to take on multiple enemies at once. For example, the Bow and Arrow weapon is specifically for the Ranger Class while the Swords are specifically for the Swordsman Class. Upon switching the weapons, players will also switch between the different skills and abilities of the particular class. This makes the game more strategic and fun to play as players have a wide variety of gameplay styles to choose from and test out. This also makes grinding in The Legend of Neverland easier and harder at the same time. This happens since players can clear content easily due to the versatility of the class choice but also, they need to focus on leveling up skills in all of their classes. The 4th and final class can also be unlocked after the player reaches Rank 65.

The gameplay mechanics of The Legend of Neverland are fresh with flashy animations and quick movement but the core mechanics remain to be of a hack ‘n’ slash stylized gameplay. Players are mostly required to defeat the monsters from the evil forces that come in waves or spawn repeatedly infinitely in certain areas. Players can also make use of Chain skills where they can chain abilities of different classes to deal more damage to the enemies. The Legend of Neverland’s gameplay is very simple to learn and execute but difficult to master and make use of the abilities at the right time. The combat system also has a fast dodge mechanic which tests the player’s instincts and reaction time to enemy abilities, making the gameplay more fun and interactive.  

Apart from the fun-filled gameplay, the Legend of Neverland also offers some juicy rewards by just being AFK. Yes, players can earn Gold for free just as taxes from the kingdom’s citizens. The game also features some interactive short games and activities like fishing, insect catching, cooking different food from multiple cuisines, and mining rare ores and minerals from rocky caves.
