Rise of Kingdoms 7th Anniversary Update – New Events, Content Rework, and Optimizations

With the 7th anniversary of Rise of Kingdoms, the developers have launched one of the most content-packed updates to date. This milestone serves not only as a nostalgic reflection on the game’s journey but also as a grand festival introducing new events, features, and optimizations that impact every governor. We have provided a detailed breakdown of everything included in the 7th Anniversary update such as limited-time events, changes to combat, and quality-of-life improvements, so you can make the most of this celebration.
The 7th Anniversary Begins!
The 7th Anniversary begins with a massive festival featuring 11 special events, each with unique rewards and mechanics. Here’s what you’ll find:
-
Sign-In Spoils
Log in for seven days to collect a Legendary Commander and other valuable prizes. This is one of the easiest ways to boost your roster, so make sure you don’t miss a single day.
-
RoK Yearbook
Take a stroll down memory lane and review your journey from 2024–2025. This feature highlights your milestones, achievements, and contributions to your kingdom, kind of like a feel-good bonus to mark the anniversary.
-
Grand Reunion
This returning event encourages you to invite old friends back into the game. When they return and start playing again, you’ll gain mutual rewards and strengthen your alliance roster at the same time.
-
Elysian Treasures
Open mystical chests to claim the riches of Elysium. These chests contain premium items and give everyone a chance to score high-value loot.
-
Fisherman’s Fortune
A whimsical new activity invites you to “break out your tackle box.” Cast your line and pull in surprises from among the waves. Fishing mini-games in past events have offered rare materials and speedups; expect something similar here.
-
Melon Market
Sell your harvested Egrimelons to earn Melon Money, then spend it on magnificent rewards in the special market. This event works like a seasonal currency shop, so hoard Egrimelons and buy the best deals.
-
Desert Tracks
Escort a caravan loaded with rare treasures to the festival. Similar to previous escort-style events, you’ll guard a moving target against waves of enemies while earning incremental rewards.
-
Circus of Wonders
Step right up to the incredible circus run by the Amazing Parrot Brothers, Goldayne and Fogsworth. Participate in games and challenges to win colorful prizes — a playful break from the usual war grind.
-
Alliance Quiz
Test your knowledge as a team. Answer trivia questions with your alliance to score points and collective rewards. Good communication and quick responses are key.
-
Race Against Time
A classic speed challenge: eliminate as many barbarians as possible within a time limit. This is perfect for burning excess Action Points while stacking event rewards.
Zenith of Power
The headline competitive event returns with a twist. Governors increase their power through training, building, and research to earn rewards but the addition of Zenith Badges and Zenith Shop systems add new flexibility.
- Earn Zenith Badges as you gain power.
- Exchange these badges in the Zenith Shop for the current city theme, its effect, and other items.
- The top 10 governors still win the current city theme, but the top 3 no longer receive the theme effect automatically.
- Unused Zenith Badges expire at the end of the event, so spend them wisely.
New Combat Mechanics and Optimizations
The 7th Anniversary update also adds new combat systems and streamlines existing ones, signaling a shift in how governors plan marches and formations.
New Attack March Command – A revamped attack march command is entering Pioneer Testing, promising more precise control over your troops in the field. Expect smoother targeting and potentially fewer misclicks during hectic battles.
Double Line Formation – A completely new troop formation, Double Line, gives your marches +10% March Speed when heading toward barbarians. This benefits players grinding barbarians or chaining them for rewards. You’ll also find new Double Line Formation Armaments from traveling, dispatches, Formation Choice Chests, Random Armament Chests, and event rewards.
Revamped Lost Conquest and Season of Conquest
The developers are also addressing long-standing feedback about the Lost Kingdom experience and Season of Conquest. A new “Acclaim” mechanic will undergo Pioneer Testing in certain Lost Kingdoms, though details remain limited. This could be a new way of recognizing individual or alliance performance during major campaigns.
Crystal Technology Rework
Several of the most controversial aspects of Crystal Tech are being reworked for Heroic Anthem, Warriors Unbound, Tides of War, and King of All Britain. Some of the core changes are as follows in the words of the developers:
- Reduced the Crystals required to upgrade the Crystal Research Center.
- Replaced old defensive techs (Tough Skin, Mantlets, Pike Wall, Shatterproof) with unit-specific ones: Infantry Expert, Cavalry Expert, Archer Expert, and Siege Expert. These not only provide traditional benefits but also increase your damage against corresponding unit types.
- Adjusted the order of some technologies for a smoother progression.
- Added an automatic mode for the Rapid Retreat tech, letting defeated troops instantly return to your city. The gem cost for instant return is also cut from 200 to 80 gems.
- In stories with the rework, the first Past Glory buff now increases your damage to rallied armies and garrisons.
