How to Unlock Her Legacy

Her Legacy only becomes available once you have cleared the early main‑story segment in Qinghe. Specifically, you must finish the main quest “Heaven Has No Pier,” then return to Heaven’s Pier afterward.

Once back in Heaven’s Pier, head into the Brewery area and explore inside. As you move among the wine jars and shelves, an Encounter prompt will appear, which formally starts Her Legacy when you interact with the unsent treasure map lying on one of the lower shelves.

Step 1 – Find the Unsent Treasure Map in the Brewery

Go to Heaven’s Pier Brewery and look along the racks of wine jars. The map you need is on the lowest shelf of the third rack from the right; interact with it to pick up the “unsent” treasure map and officially begin the quest.

Open your inventory and examine the map to study its clue text and illustration. This first clue points you toward the Peace Bell Tower to the west of the Brewery within Heaven’s Pier, marking your next destination.

Step 2 – Reach Peace Bell Tower and Meet the Old Angler

The easiest route is to fast travel to the underground Kilnfire Ridge Moonveil Stream teleport point, climb the nearby ladder to emerge outside, then orient yourself toward the hill east of the temple.

Climb the slope until you reach a lone building on the hilltop. A Woodcutter stands close to a tree near this house; speak with him to move the quest forward and obtain information leading you to the next clue location.

Step 6 – Search Emperor Chai Temple Rooftops for the Next Map

Return to Emperor Chai Temple and focus on its rooftops rather than the ground level. Use your movement skills to climb up and reach the main roof area. The next map is positioned beside a noticeable hole in the temple roof, so scan around that opening carefully.

Interact with the glinting spot to acquire yet another treasure map. When examined, this one points you toward Bamboo Abode and an area near the Northern Bamboo Grove Boundary Stone, where your next encounter awaits.

Step 7 – Go to Northern Bamboo Grove and Challenge the Hunter

Fast travel or ride to Bamboo Abode, then head toward the Northern Bamboo Grove Boundary Stone as marked by your current map. Use the waypoint to close the distance and then navigate through the bamboo forest until you spot a Hunter NPC in the vicinity described by the map.

Speak with the Hunter to begin a bird‑shooting contest. Use your ranged weapon and consider activating Still Water to steady your aim; this time‑slowing or focus skill makes hitting moving targets much easier, especially if you are not confident with ranged combat.

Step 8 – Win the Bird‑Shooting Contest and Learn of the Bamboo Grove Hut

During the contest, track bird movement patterns and time your shots as they pass through predictable paths. With Still Water active, line up your reticle carefully and fire when birds cross your aim, minimizing wasted arrows.

Defeating the Hunter awards you another letter and reveals that someone wants to meet you at Bamboo Grove Hut. Reading the letter deepens your understanding of Ruby’s situation and confirms that the final stage of Her Legacy lies back at the hut, crucial to the protagonist’s early memories.

Step 9 – Travel to Bamboo Grove Hut and Trigger Twisted Destiny

Use the Bamboo Retreat Boundary Stone to fast travel toward the Bamboo Grove Hut. This is the same dilapidated hut where your journey in Where Winds Meet began, so you should already have its fast travel point unlocked from the main story.

As you approach, be prepared to fight several wolves roaming the area. After dealing with them, investigate the sacks lying near the entrance and the broken door leaning against the wall; the sacks contain severed heads, and the door bears a threatening note addressed to Jiang, which automatically unlocks the Twisted Destiny encounter quest.

Step 10 – Find Ruby’s Letter, Receive Ruby Knots, and Meditate

Circle around the hut and search behind the building, near the short staircases leading up to the rear platform. There you will discover Ruby’s Letter placed close to the steps. Read the letter to learn Ruby’s final sentiments and receive the Ruby Knots, an important keepsake that symbolises her connection to you.

Once you have taken in her message, enter the hut and use the meditation spot inside. Meditating triggers a dream sequence in which Ruby appears to you one last time; after this emotional scene concludes, Her Legacy is considered complete.
