Wuthering Waves Cartethyia Guide Stats, Builds, Ways to Reach Maximum DPS

Wuthering Waves is a mobile RPG packed with numerous characters, each offering unique abilities, strengths, and playstyles. Among them, Cartethyia stands out as one of the game’s most powerful heroes, capable of delivering exceptional damage when built correctly. In this guide, we’ll cover everything you need to know about Cartethyia, including her abilities, optimal build, and tips for maximizing her DPS potential.
Cartethyia Basic Info & Stats
This is a 5-star rarity character and uses “Sword” as its primary weapon. Cartethyia belongs to the Aero element, meaning it attacks by manipulating airflow. Upon reaching level 90, its base stats will be as follows:
| HP | 14.800 | DEF | 611 |
| ATK | 313 | ENG (MAX) | 125 |
| CRIT (RATE) | 5% | CRIT (DMG) | 150% |
You’ll need a lot of Tidal Residuum to upgrade this character. For example, a total of 61 FF Tidal Residuum are needed for both ascension and skill upgrades. You’ll also use Metallic Drip and Bamboo Iris: try to collect between 70-80 of each.

Active Skills of Cartethyia
- With Basic Attack, you can perform 4 consecutive attacks, each dealing Aero damage. Heavy Attack consumes STA and summons a “Sword Shadow”.
- You can use the Resonance skill to deal AoE damage.
- Resonance Liberation is triggered when Resonance Energy is full and it transforms you into “Fleurdelys”.
Passive Skills of Cartethyia
- When Resonance Liberation is triggered, you can perform 5 consecutive attacks with your basic attack. Your heavy attacks also deal more AoE damage and generate Convictions.
- Your Resonance skill pulls nearby enemies to an area in front of you, making your AoE attack more effective.
- With Resonance chains, you can increase your damage by up to 200%, apply more debuffs at shorter intervals, and consume Convictions to increase DPS.
Pros & Cons of Cartethyia
| PROS | CONS |
| When used with the right build and the right team, it offers the highest DPS in the game as of June 2026 | Its rotation is based on stacking convictions on the enemy and while is flexible, it can be a little difficult to understand how it works initially |
| Because it does most of its rotation while airborne, it is harder to hit | One of the hardest (and most expensive) characters to obtain |
| Its rotation offers a flexibility that allows beginners to make mistakes | It is essential to use it with the right build and the right team, which causes you to shape your entire gameplay around this character |
Yes, Cartethyia is a character who will shine in any team and has incredible DPS, but there’s a price to pay: you have to structure your entire gameplay to support her, and that requires a huge investment. Switching to another character will also be quite difficult for the same reason in future power balance changes. Her rotation is easy to follow, but if you want to reach her maximum DPS potential, you need to follow a specific combat flow, which is based on accumulating and consuming convictions:
- Place as many Sword Shadows on the field using active attacks and recall them to increase your damage.
- Keep doing this until your Resonance Energy is full and transform into Fleurdelys.
- As Fleurdelys, start placing Convictions with your attacks.
- Consume those Convictions to increase damage.
- Repeat this rotation.
This is a forgiving flow, but if you want to achieve 100% damage output, you need to play with a specific build/team setup and follow it perfectly. Speaking of builds…

Cartethyia Best Build
Below you can see the weapons and eco sets that will increase Cartethyia’s damage according to different simulations. Remember that these simulations require Ciaccona and Rover (Aero) in the team, meaning certain synergies are essential: this is what we mean when we say you have to build the entire gameplay around this character.
| BEST WEAPON | |
| NAME | DPS |
| Defier’s Thorn (R1) | 100% |
| Red Spring (R1) | 79% |
| Blazing Brilliance (R1) | 77% |
| Feather Edge (R5) | 76% |
| Emerald Sentence (R1) | 75% – 76% |
| Emerald of Genesis (R1) | 75% |
The best eco set is Windward Pilgrimage. This set provides a 10% damage increase and a 10% CRIT (rate) increase to all characters whose primary element is Aero. By the endgame, your CRIT rate should ideally be as close to 80% as possible, and you should aim for a 25-30% increase in Aero damage. This set will help with both.
Cartethyia Best Team Setup
Ideally, the team you’ll put Cartethyia on should include these characters:
- Ciaccona: This character’s primary role is to buff Cartethyia; she has a very suitable kit for this.
- Rover (Aero): This character has a kit that can increase the enemy’s debuff stack, meaning it helps Cartethyia deal significantly more damage. Alternatively, Chisa or Shorekeeper can also be used.
- Sanhua: If you’re a free-to-play player, this is the best character you can put on a team with Cartethyia. While not as extensive as the others, it still provides satisfying buffs.

Note that this information is valid as of June 2026, meaning it may change completely with future updates. Speaking of strong characters, don’t forget to check out our guides for other Wuthering Wing heroes (such as Galbrena and Qiuyuan) and play the game on PC with BlueStacks!
