PUBG Mobile FLASH Announced – Release Date, Features, and Everything We Know

PUBG Mobile is getting a lighter version called PUBG Mobile FLASH, designed for players who want the full battle royale experience without downloading a large amount of content upfront. Previously announced as PUBG Mobile LIGHT, the game has received a new name ahead of its planned November 2026 launch.
Unlike the original PUBG Mobile Lite, FLASH is not a separate game with its own accounts and matchmaking. Instead, it connects directly to the existing PUBG Mobile ecosystem, allowing players to use their current accounts, keep their friends and owned items, and play alongside users of the standard version.
With pre-registration already available, here’s everything confirmed about PUBG Mobile FLASH, including its release window, download size, features, and system requirements.
PUBG Mobile FLASH Release Date and Pre-Registration
PUBG Mobile FLASH is scheduled to launch in November 2026 for Android and iOS. An exact release date has not been officially announced, although some unofficial reports have suggested November 12.
Pre-registration opened on August 25, 2026, through the Google Play Store and Apple App Store. Players who previously registered under the PUBG Mobile LIGHT name do not need to register again, as existing registrations remain valid following the name change.

To pre-register, visit the official Google Play listing or Apple App Store listing and select the available registration option.
Pre-registration is free, and players can expect rewards when the game launches. These include in-game and other promotional rewards, although the complete reward list and regional availability have not yet been detailed.
The rename from LIGHT to FLASH was announced on September 24, 2026. According to the announcement, the change affects only the name. The planned release window, features, pre-registration progress, and associated rewards remain unchanged.
What Is PUBG Mobile FLASH, and How Is It Different?
PUBG Mobile FLASH is designed to reduce the amount of storage and mobile data needed to get started with PUBG Mobile. Rather than downloading a large collection of maps, modes, and other resources immediately, players install a smaller initial package and download additional content when needed.
Erangel comes pre-installed, meaning players can begin playing without downloading extra resources after the initial installation. Other maps, modes, events, and full lobby features can be downloaded from within the game.

Importantly, the lighter installation does not mean FLASH has an entirely separate gameplay experience. Core gameplay, content updates, account assets, and matchmaking are intended to remain consistent with standard PUBG Mobile.
Players can also switch between PUBG Mobile FLASH and the standard app using the same account. Their friends and owned items remain available, and cross-play is supported, allowing users of both versions to join the same matches.
This makes FLASH different from the discontinued PUBG Mobile Lite, which launched in 2019 as a standalone title with separate accounts and content. Progress from that older game does not transfer to FLASH.
Some account-related details still need clarification. While existing accounts, friends, and owned items are confirmed to carry over, the developers have not specifically explained how Royale Pass missions, UC balances, or rank displays will function between the two apps.
PUBG Mobile FLASH Download Size and System Requirements
One of the biggest advantages of PUBG Mobile FLASH is its smaller initial download. The officially announced package sizes are less than 1 GB for Android, and less than 2 GB for iOS.
These figures apply to the initial installation. Downloading additional maps, modes, and other optional resources will increase the total storage used by the game.

PUBG Mobile FLASH is also intended to provide optimized performance across more devices, particularly phones with limited storage or less powerful hardware.
However, official minimum system requirements have not yet been published. There are currently no confirmed minimum specifications for RAM, processor, GPU, Android version, or required free storage beyond the announced initial download sizes.
Players should avoid treating unofficial hardware estimates as confirmed requirements until the developers release the full specifications.
Is PUBG Mobile FLASH the Same as BGMI Lite?
PUBG Mobile FLASH and BGMI Lite follow a similar approach, but they are separate products intended for different markets.
PUBG Mobile FLASH is the global version associated with standard PUBG Mobile, while BGMI Lite is designed for players in India and connects to Battlegrounds Mobile India.
Both aim to provide smaller initial downloads while retaining account compatibility and cross-play with their respective standard games.
BGMI Lite also has different announced hardware requirements and a separate launch schedule. Players should therefore avoid confusing its specifications or release information with those of PUBG Mobile FLASH.
What to Expect From PUBG Mobile FLASH
PUBG Mobile FLASH should make it easier for players with limited storage or mobile data to access the same core battle royale experience available in standard PUBG Mobile. The smaller download, optional content installation, shared accounts, and cross-play are its main selling points.
For now, the game remains scheduled for November 2026, with pre-registration available ahead of launch. Players should use official app store listings rather than unofficial APK websites advertising early downloads.

Once PUBG Mobile FLASH becomes available on Android, players can also explore playing it on PC with BlueStacks, subject to compatibility. BlueStacks offers customizable keyboard and mouse controls and a larger display, providing another way to enjoy supported Android games.
