The May update for Idle Heroes has arrived, and it brings a refreshing blend of strategic team building and high-stakes hero awakening. From May 1 until May 7, 2026, the community will be buzzing with new challenges and massive rewards. The latest Idle Heroes update sees massive recurring events from the past on top of some new ones in the mix as well. All in all, it seems a lot of free rewards are waiting for players. Let’s check out everything new coming to Idle Heroes with the May 2026 update!

Daily Gift Event and Card Clash Mechanics

Your journey begins with a simple daily ritual: logging into the game every day to collect seven Enchanted Cards. These cards serve as your entry ticket into the event’s central feature, the Card Clash of Illusion. While it may seem like a basic requirement, missing even a single day can hinder your ability to reach the higher reward tiers in the later phases of the week.

In the Card Clash of Illusion, you use your Enchanted Cards to pull random Hero Cards. The goal is to assemble the strongest possible team to tackle challenging bosses. Success in this mode requires a deep understanding of hero synergies and counter-play. The rewards are tied to a leaderboard that tracks the highest damage dealt in the Challenge Stage, which means your focus should be on optimizing your damage output for a single, high-impact run. After the event concludes, any leftovers you have can be sold for Gold in your bag, ensuring that every resource has a purpose.

Realms Gate

For players who enjoy the steady climb of the Realms Gate, the Contractual Strategy phase offers a direct path to acquiring Contract Starry Gems. By clearing specific levels of Corruption, you can claim these valuable gems as rewards. Since there is no limit on the number of times you can attempt a stage, you have the freedom to experiment with different team compositions until you find the perfect setup to smash through the enemy defenses.

Soul-Awakening Gala Event

The Soul-Awakening Gala is where the most significant power jumps happen. As you awaken your heroes in the Soul Temple, you accumulate points based on the tiers you achieve. Every 20 points you earn grants you a Transcendence Copies Selection Chest, which is an invaluable resource for players looking to complete their elite hero copies. Reaching designated milestones also unlocks Mysterious Artifacts Selection Chests, though it is important to note that the Peacock Feather Cape and Spree Pass are excluded from these specific rewards.

Soul-Awakening Session

If you are a highly competitive player who reaches the 200-point mark in the Soul-Awakening Gala, you will qualify for the Soul-Awakening Session. In this phase, you are ranked against other players within your Auction House Trade Zone. The rewards here are driven by community effort; Wonders are unlocked based on the total points of the top ten players in the session. Participating in these high-level sessions can yield bound Awakening Resonance Crystals, though heroes awakened with these items cannot be traded in the Auction House.

Starlight Melody Event

The Starlight Melody event tracks your overall activity throughout the week. You gain points by consuming Enchanted Cards and performing hero awakenings. Specifically, each Enchanted Card used provides 3 points, and each awakening adds 7 points to your total. While there is a cap of 1,500 basic points, players who have accumulated VIP EXP through the Moonlight Gift can unlock multipliers that significantly boost their point totals, leading to even more abundant rewards.

Sacred Workshop and Superior Soul Boost

The Sacred Workshop introduces a niche but powerful way to enhance specific heroes: Cosmic Enforcer – Luna and Star Alchemist – Holmes Young. By participating in hero awakenings and gaining VIP EXP, you can earn points toward the Weaponry of Valor treasure series. These treasures are exclusive to this workshop and provide tailored buffs to these specific heroes, allowing you to choose the exact treasure you need from a selection chest.

For those with a surplus of lower-tier awakened heroes, the Superior Soul Boost is a perfect way to clean out your inventory while gaining progress rewards. You can use heroes with C-minus to C-plus awakened tiers as Soul Merging materials. The event is generous enough to grant extra progress even if the materials you use are two grades lower than the hero you are upgrading. Reaching designated progress goals will reward you with Awakened Puppet Fragments, further fueling your hero development pipeline.

Glorious Treasury Event

The Glorious Treasury serves as the events marketplace, where you can exchange coins for a variety of high-tier items. Spending coins naturally unlocks more advanced shops, starting with Shop 3 after 10 coins and scaling all the way to Shop 7 after 100 coins. Savvy shoppers should look for the limited-time discounts, such as the 50 percent off deal for the first few redemptions in Shops 1 and 3.

Moonlight Gifts Event

The Moonlight Gift rewards players for their overall investment in the game. Accumulating VIP EXP unlocks tiers of rewards, including the powerful Double Privileges at 5,000 EXP. This privilege doubles your rewards from normal stage clearances and provides a massive boost to your Starlight Melody points. At the highest levels of VIP EXP, you can even reach point multipliers of up to nine times, ensuring that your efforts throughout the May update are rewarded with the highest possible efficiency.
