The Beanstalk Update has arrived in Grow a Garden, introducing one of the most ambitious limited-time events the Roblox game has seen so far. Running from August 16 to August 30, 2025, this update blends fairy-tale inspiration with new mechanics, crops, adventures, cosmetics, and pets. At the center of it all is the massive Beanstalk that players must work together to grow.

In this guide, we’ll cover everything you need to know about the Beanstalk Event and the wider update: how the system works, the rewards you can unlock, new seeds and pets, and the best ways to maximize your contributions.

Protip: Make sure to check out our Grow a Garden tips and tricks if you’re new to the game, to find out awesome pointers on how to get started and progress.

How does the Beanstalk Event Work?

The Beanstalk Event in Grow a Garden revolves around contributing plants to Jack, the NPC in the central hub. Every plant you turn in adds points to a shared growth bar, and once the Beanstalk is fully grown, it becomes climbable. Along the way, a leaderboard tracks contributions, rewarding the top contributor with bonus loot.

Contributions reset if you leave and rejoin, so stay in the server to secure rewards. It’s also important to note that a fully grown Beanstalk lasts for 20 minutes before decaying. Rarely, a Golden Beanstalk may spawn, which is harder to climb but offers better loot from orbs. Lastly, different crop categories are requested (berries, fruits, woody plants, etc.), and the most efficient crops are often strawberries, blueberries, and grapes thanks to their quick growth.

Climbing the Beanstalk plays like a parkour challenge. You’ll collect glowing reward orbs along the way, containing gear, fertilizers, crates, and seeds. At the very top, you’ll meet the Giant, who runs the event shop.

How do you Access the Beanstalk Portal and Milestones in Grow a Garden?

To access the portal at the top of the Beanstalk, you must contribute at least six times to its growth. This saves you the trouble of climbing every time, letting you teleport straight to the Giant’s island.

There are also several milestone rewards that players can claim when completing certain requirements:

  • 10 contributions unlock the Bean Fence, a cosmetic fence skin.
  • Around 9–10 contributions total are needed to unlock the Bean Gate cosmetic.

This system encourages steady participation rather than just one-time farming.

What Can You Buy at Goliath’s Goods?

At the top of the Beanstalk, the Giant’s shop, called Goliath’s Goods, becomes available. Initially, only a few items can be purchased, but more unlock as you contribute to Beanstalk growth. Some of these items include:

  • Seeds & Crops: Mandrake, Canary Melon, Amberheart, and more.
  • Fertilizers: Silver, Gold, and even Rainbow versions that enhance crops for a limited time.
  • Pets: The Spriggan, a rare event pet, can be bought after 7 contributions.
  • Cosmetics: Bean Fence, Beanstalk Painting, and other themed décor.

The shop restocks hourly, or you can force a manual refresh with in-game currency. Manual restocks get pricier each time but reset daily.

What About the Friendship Shop?

The Friendship Shop adds a secondary progression system. By feeding food to the Giant, you increase your friendship level, which unlocks exclusive items.

Leveling is gradual, with common food giving 1 point, while rarer foods give up to 8. Moreover, rewards scale from small décor like the Beanstalk Painting, to rare items like the Pet Mutation Shard Giantbean, and even the Gnome pet at the highest tier. This mechanic is designed to reward long-term dedication and resource investment.

What Pets are Introduced in the Beanstalk Update?

Several new pets come with this update, each with unique passive effects. Here are some of them:

  • Dairy Cow: Increases crop growth speed in its area, with a small chance to grant Beanstalk seeds when sold.
  • Jackalope: Thumps periodically to add the Sandy mutation to nearby fruits.
  • Golem: Advances the Mutation Machine’s timer periodically.
  • Golden Goose: The star of the update, this pet lays a Golden Egg every 10 minutes. Golden Eggs can grow instantly and sell for millions when mutated.
  • Spriggan: Boosts the chance of the Bloom mutation spreading across nearby crops.

Pets are one of the most exciting rewards of the event, both for their utility and for their rarity.

What New Crops and Seeds are Available?

The Beanstalk Update brings a variety of new plants and seeds into Grow a Garden, many of which are exclusive to the event. Some of these include:

  • Canary Melon: A slow-growing but high-value fruit.
  • Amberheart: A rare crop that grows a single fruit at a time, but with high base value.
  • Flare Daisy, Duskpuff, Mangosteen, Poseidon Plant, Gleamroot: Mid-tier event crops with unique visuals and strong sell prices.
  • Princess Thorn: An ultra-rare giant thorned plant worth billions with the right mutations.
  • Golden Egg Plant: Spawned by the Golden Goose pet, grows instantly and scales in value with mutations.

Most event plants are permanent additions to your garden once unlocked, so participating in the Beanstalk event pays off long after it ends.

The Beanstalk Update is one of the richest events in Grow a Garden yet, combining community cooperation, progression milestones, exclusive crops, and unique pets. Whether you’re farming strawberries to climb the leaderboard or chasing the legendary Golden Goose, this update offers something for every player.

To get the most out of the Beanstalk Event, be consistent with your contributions, climb often for orb rewards, and prioritize unlocking seeds and pets that will stay useful beyond the event itself.

For the smoothest experience, play Grow a Garden on PC with BlueStacks. The larger screen, improved controls, and performance upgrades make farming, climbing, and event participation far easier.
