RAID: Shadow Legends is one of the biggest turn-based RPGs ever to grace the mobile market, raking in just over $15 million last month. The game has had successful collaborations with Esports streamer Ninja, UFC female wrestler Ronda Rousey, and Monster Hunter: RISE franchise in the past.

In their newest update, Plarium has decided to rework many imbalanced artifact sets and champion kits. This is mainly due to the community outrage over multiple meta shifts in the Live PvP game mode. With new champions being added each month, older ones were pushed further and further into the priority lane. Thankfully, these balance changes will help re-ignite the usage of some of the included champions. Let’s check out everything new that came with Update 8.40!

Impulse and Zeal Set Rework

The core change players will see with these reworks is that both Impulse and Zeal sets have been downgraded from a 4-piece set to a 2-piece set. It means that players will now need only 2 artifacts of both Impulse and Zeal in order to activate their bonuses. This will help players craft their champion builds with much ease, leaving room for a 4-piece set on top of Zeal/Impulse sets. Their value has also been downgraded to accommodate the change. Here are the changes:

RAID: Shadow Legends – Impulse and Zeal Artifact Rework, Champion Re-balancing, and more in Patch 8.40

Now, Impulse gives the wearer a 12% boost to Speed and a 12% chance to shorten the cooldown of a random ability by one round.

Zeal now gives its wearer a 20% boost to C. DMG and a damage bonus that increases gradually based on HP. The wearer’s damage increases by 12% and 0.12%, respectively, at 100% and 1% of HP. It is 3% of the wearer’s total HP, or 25%.

Bug Fixes and Improvements

As the game gets older and new content keeps getting added, some bugs are bound to occur. These can be quite unpleasant for players if not resolved quickly. Plarium has made many improvements and bug fixes to make the gameplay experience better. Check them out:

  • Using any of his active skills, Bambus Fourleaf will now apply a [Sleep] debuff to himself, even if he already has less than 10 debuffs applied to him.
  • Fixed a bug that caused an error when players tried to find an opponent in Live Arena.
  • Fixed a visual bug that caused the [Hex] debuff to appear to be placed first by Kuldath’s Stoke the Flames skill.
  • Fixed a bug that caused Clan members’ fight results to be duplicated when participating in the Hydra Clash.
  • Fixed a visual bug that caused Alaz the Sunbearer to remain standing when killed in the Doom Tower.
  • Fixed a bug that caused Borgoth’s Easy Prey [P] skill to activate when attacked by Miscreated Monster’s Lightning Storm skill.
