Seven Deadly Sins: Grand Cross, the turn-based card battler RPG (Role-Playing Game) is back to its original schedule of releasing new heroes and new events for the community. After a successful 3rd anniversary for the global region, the game also released a developer note stating that the difference between updates in JP/KR versions and the Global version of the game will be reduced to 1 week instead of the previous 2-week gap. This reduced gap means that Netmarble wants to focus more on the inputs of the global player base which is a good sign for the health of the game. The new update and its details are officially released on The Seven Deadly Sins: Grand Cross official forums. 

Starting to take a look at the new stuff coming with the update, players will be thrilled to know a new hero called Sun God Freyr will be joining the champion pool in-game. New quests for the Ragnarok Story Chapter 5 will be added to the game, letting players reap more rewards. A completely new Demonic Beast battle featuring Skoll and Hati is also going to start which the players can farm to obtain resources for fusing Holy Relics. New cosmetics, system changes, and new events are also scheduled to start. Let’s check out all the new things coming with this update scheduled on 5th July 2022.

(Master of Light) Sun God Freyr

(Master of Light) Sun God Freyr will be available to be summoned and obtained via the Ragnarok Special Draw banner on which players can summon using their collected Diamonds or using the tickets obtained through a special event. Players will be able to summon Sun God Freyr with a higher drop rate among other characters with the pity set at 600 points on the banner. Sun God Freyr is a great single-target nuker that makes use of Cleave damage. His 1st skill Blitz Charge is a single targeted damaging skill that deals 240% damage to a single enemy. When using a leveled-up version of this card, players will also be able to Cancel the stances of the enemy. His 2nd skill Rain of Light is also a single targeted damaging skill that deals Cleave damage to the enemy and deals 500% of the damage. This skill cannot trigger Critical Hit Damage. Sun God Freyr’s ultimate skill Sword of the Sun is also a single targeted damaging skill that doubles down as a nuke which deals 720% damage and additional Death damage. Death damage is a new type of damage that inflicts double the damage inflicted to the target upon his own Death.

• Blitz Charge

Rank 1 – Inflicts damage equal to 240% of Attacks on one enemy.

Rank 2 – Cancels Stances on one enemy and inflicts damage equal to 300% of the Attack.

Rank 3 – Cancels Stances on one enemy and inflicts damage equal to 500% of Attack.

• Rain of Light

Rank 1: Inflicts Cleave damage, which does not activate Crit Damage, equal to 200% of Attack on one enemy.

Rank 2: Inflicts Cleave damage, which does not activate Crit Damage, equal to 300% of Attack on one enemy.

Rank 3: Inflicts Cleave damage, which does not activate Crit Damage, equal to 500% of Attack on one enemy.

• Sword of the Sun (Ultimate Move)

Inflicts damage equal to 720% of Attack on one enemy, then inflicts additional Death damage.

• Holy Flame (Passive Ability)

Allies are immune to ignites. At the start of the allies’ turn, applies Blessing of Light to the hero and increases all of the hero’s stats by 15% for 2 turns. Every 2 turns, apply Blessing of Light again. When Blessing of Light is removed, increases all of the allies’ stats by 5% for 5 turns.

His Association effects can be unlocked by pairing him with Protector of Dolls King (HP + 1440), The Seven Deadly Sins King (HP + 1440), Disaster King (HP + 1440), Sunshine Escanor (Resistance + 24.6%), and The Lion Sin of Pride Escanor (Resistance + 24.6%).

(Tomorrow’s Champion) Captain Meliodas

A new variation of Captain Meliodas is also released along with the update. His 1st skill Boot Slash is a single targeted damaging skill that deals Sever damage equal to 160% of his damage. Sever damage increases triple the critical hit rate. His 2nd skill Dark Condensation is an AOE targeted damaging skill that deals 140% damage to all enemies. The leveled-up cards of this skill further remove buffs and cancel stances that also help in the PvP game modes. His ultimate ability 1000 Divine Cuts is a single targeted damaging skill that cancels buffs and stances, dealing 490% of damage as Attack. The attack also Stuns the target for 1 turn.

• Boot Slash

Rank 1 – Inflicts Sever damage equal to 160% of Attack on one enemy.

Rank 2 – Inflicts Sever damage equal to 270% of Attack on one enemy.

Rank 3 – Inflicts Sever damage equal to 450% of Attack on one enemy.

• Dark Condensation

Rank 1: Inflicts damage equal to 140% of Attack on all enemies.

Rank 2: Removes Buffs from all enemies and inflicts damage equal to 140% of Attack.

Rank 3: Cancels Buffs and Stances on all enemies and inflicts damage equal to 210% of Attack.

• 1000 Divine Cuts (Ultimate Move)

Cancels Buffs and Stances on one enemy, inflicts damage equal to 490% of Attack, then Stuns for 1 turn(s).

• Champion’s Dignity (Passive Ability)

Increases basic stats of allies with 2 or fewer skills by 20% for 1 turn at the start of the allies’ turn.

His Association effects can be unlocked by pairing him with The Serpent Sin of Envy Diane (DEF + 340), Heart of the Land Diane (DEF + 340), The Seven Deadly Sins Diane (DEF + 340), Eternal Promise Diane (DEF + 340), Boar Hat Tavern Elizabeth (Resistance + 24.6%), Liones Elizabeth (Resistance + 24.6%), A New Adventure Elizabeth (Resistance + 24.6%), and New Legend Elizabeth (Resistance + 24.6%).

Skoll and Hati Celebration Push Event

A special login event titled “Skoll and Hati Celebration Push Event” is being held on the global server of the game from 5th July 2022 till 18th July 2022 where players will be able to earn a juicy reward every day by logging in to the game consecutively. The 14-day check-in event is a great way to earn rewards by simply logging in to the game. Make sure to collect the rewards on the same day as they expire after 24 hours.

Skoll and Hati Demon Boss Battle

The newest Demonic Boss Battle will feature Skoll and Hati, the twin spirited wolfs. Players will be able to take part in the Demonic Boss Battle after the update on 5th July 2022 and reap the rewards offered by this content. The rewards are usually in the form of crating materials for the Holy Relics. Holy Relics greatly empower the abilities of heroes and provide additional stats for the hero that directly affect its performance in battles. During the event, players will be able to earn rewards separately for challenging the demonic boss battle as well as individual rewards based on the weekly rankings they achieved. 

The higher the damage dealt with the boss, the higher will be the ranking and the higher the player will be rewarded. Players will be able to get Twilight Source, Honor of the Einherjar, and Black Magic Essence as part of the rewards. The Demonic Boss Battle consists of 3 different floors with differing power levels. Players can clear the 3rd floor of the demonic boss battle to obtain a guaranteed River Source as a reward.

Freyja’s Golden Gift Card Event

Freyja’s Golden Gift card event states that players will be able to earn some juicy rewards just by participating in the event and flipping cards. The entire event starts on 5th July 2022 after the update is implemented and ends on 19th July 2022. The event is divided into different stages and each stage of the event has 20 cards that are upside down. The new event also features a new event currency called “Captivating Energy” which is used for flipping cards and reaping the rewards. Each stage contains 19 normal rewards and 1 special reward. Once the player gets the special reward of the stage, they will be able to move on to the next stage or stay on the current stage to get the remaining rewards. Captivating Energy can be farmed from the different locations in the game like Main story stages, fort solgres, boss battles, deathmatch, knighthood boss battle, reverse stage, Training grotto stages, and Tower of Trials floors. Players can also get the Captivating Energy event currency through the Coin Shop.
