EverMerge: Tips and Tricks for the Winning Combination
There is something uniquely satisfying about merging games. The act of combining items to make them bigger and better over and over again may sound repetitive, but in reality, it is truly one of the most enjoyable gaming formats to have sprung up in the last few years. In the world of EverMerge, you must free famous fairy-tale characters from the Fog of the Forgotten, rebuilding the land as you go. It’s a tall order for one person, so here are our favorite tips and tricks to help you beat back the fog and find the winning combination to save EverMerge.
Pat Attention to the Tutorial
This may seem obvious, but some experienced gamers may want to skip ahead and just get going. Though EverMerge on PC is a pretty simple game, the first couple of stages can be a bit daunting, with a whole load of different items and goals and no real idea how they all fit together. If you want to find success and free EverMerge from the Fog of the Forgotten, you need to go in armed with all the information you can.
Thankfully, the tutorial is well structured and guides you through both the gameplay and the lore in a simple and uncomplicated way. Many of your actions during the tutorial are restricted to ensure that you play along, so there’s not too much chance to stray from the beaten path. In addition, throughout the process, you will be given advice and information both by Sleeping Beauty and her industrious gnomes.
Though it may be tempting, do take the time to read these snippets of information. They may well be helpful as you continue playing, and even when they aren’t, they are usually quite funny.
Merge 5 Wherever Possible
The basic premise in EverMerge is that when you combine three identical items, they will create a single item of greater power or worth. However, there is an exception to this rule – the merge 5 bonus.
While 3 items combine to make 1 better item, if you combine 5 identical items they will combine to make 2 items of the next level, essentially saving you from finding a sixth ingredient for the merge. This might not sound all that impressive, but when you are merging 20 or 30 items a minute, every resource counts.
Watch out though, if you do happen to have 6 of the same item together, they will all get used up when you initiate a merge. If you want to make sure you cash in on that merge 5 bonus, make absolutely sure that any other copies of the item in question are kept well out of the way.
Don’t Ignore Orders
When playing EverMerge with BlueStacks, you will start out with only one hero freed from the Fog of the Forgotten – Sleeping Beauty. Aside from giving you quests to do and the occasional witty quip to keep you entertained, Sleeping Beauty will also periodically place orders for sweet treats which can be made from resources such as Candies and Wheat. In return for delivering these goods, you will be rewarded with various items, amongst which, crucially, are Wands.
Wands are one of the rarer resources in EverMerge and are used to unlock new areas of the map. As you level up during the game, you will be able to unlock more and more new lands, beating back the scourge of the Fog by waving your collected wands. However, if you do not have enough wands, no matter how high your level, these areas will stay close to you.
The tip here is to make sure not to neglect orders while you are busy building other things in the game. It can be easy to forget about unlocking new areas when you’re focused on developing what areas you already have, but the planting and harvesting of resources, as well as the making of ordered goods, is time consuming, so it’s best not left to the last minute.
Keep an Eye on Your Energy
There are some games out there whose energy bars are rarely empty, with refills being granted to the player at every turn. Unfortunately, this is not the case in EverMerge. Energy is a valuable and distinctly finite resource, recovering at a rate of just 1 unit per 3 minutes.
There are ways to get refills through watching ads, playing occasional games, and buying energy with gold. However, even here the game will not let you get off lightly, limiting the number of times you can watch ads for benefits and raising the price of purchasing refills every time you buy.
Early on in the game, and at the start of each day, you can be fairly liberal with your energy expenditure. Paths to refills will have reset and the price of buying energy will have dropped again after a cooldown. However, as you begin to work through your energy stores, try to ration your use, engaging in tasks that will give you the most bang for your buck.
Remember the Quests
Unlike many games, the quests in EverMerge on Bluestacks are not the center of attention. In fact, you’d be forgiven for the kind of missing them. The main quests that tie in with the storyline largely consist of building houses of varying sizes, to begin with, and those are fairly prominent. However, there are other quests that just sit quietly to the side of your screen and can easily go unnoticed.
The key here is that quests are the easiest way to get crowns, essentially the EverMerge version of XP points. Whereas most normal tasks will award 1 or 2 crowns, quests can carry prizes in the hundreds of crowns, so they are very much worth trying to complete.
There are also daily quests which each carry small rewards, along with a larger prize for completing all of the day’s tasks. The payout for full completion of daily quests improves with each subsequent success, so make sure to keep an eye on what needs to be done. After a few days, you could be earning some pretty hefty rewards.
